Frank finds himself making a very short trip, not one of days, but hours. He returns to King's Convenience with the goods

OOC Goods?

(Goods!) Oh yes, turns out the regular deliverier tried to jack up the prices for delivering everything the store sells. Toilet paper, slurpee jugs, drinks of all sorts, snacks etc.

And Jaymes refused to pay the jacked up prices and asked Frank if he'd go get it

OOC Pretty sure drivers don't make the prices? They get send out by dispatch to drive somewhere and then they load and unload. But all the payment issues are handled by invoice between the source of the cargo and the destination.

OOC I can have Frank just drop by to say hello, unless there's McGuffin cargo?

OOC I'm not a truck driver so I could be wrong but from my reading....

OOC: Well, then the company doing it tried to raise rates to use their official truckers , or an alternate source was found but couldn't deliver so Frank was asked to do a pick up.

OOC Ok, as long as Frank's not recieving any money at delivery. He'd even eat the cost for the difference between his by-mile pay and whatever the originating company charges Jaymes.

IC So Frank rumbles up with a trailer.

IC: Jaymes is outside and when Frank pulls up nods "Thanks for this, Frank. Much obliged"

"No problem. Let's get this stuff inside." he opens the truck up and starts working with the lift and dolly.

He looks over at the supplies "So much pumpkin spice everytime this year" And helps Frank take it inside "I hear we have a new redcap?"

Frank nods. "Yep. A little bit of a dicey situation. I've advised Vali, let him know."

"Mmm " A nod and frown "New Mountain has a lot of balls to juggle these days. I try not to pry, but Tove says Tiffany is getting pissed again about it"

Frank nods but does not comment.

A nod back. Clearly he's not up for gossip per se "So who is educating the new Chrystalid? ANd is he or she dangerous? Redcaps sometimes wild"

"She seems to be ... well, she's a redcap for certain but I don't think she will necessarily be dangerous. I would imagine Vali is managing her fostering."

"Knock-KNOO-OOCK." The bell jingling at the door is accompanied by a bright voice, as Piper steps in. "Brrr! It's getting chilly out there already. Oh! Mr. King, and Mr. King! You're both here!"

OOC Well, they're going inside and outside unloading a truck.... but close enough.

"We're here. What can we do for you, PIper?"

"Do you have a minute to chat about redcaps?"

She trots along as the trolls shoulder loads, and holds the door open.

Frank stays with the truck to protect the stock as much as to unload it, but he can hear and respond.

A brow lift and a look to Frank ("Did I talk THAT loud?")

"I'm looking for Prissy, that is. Word on the street is that she moved out of the Lee's house where she was staying and into the apartments, but no one there has seen her."

"Or maybe she went to Hackensack, but I don't know anyone there to ask."

Frank considers, and shakes his head gravely. "Sorry Piper, but no. I haven't seen her in ... oh, probably since the last holiday."

"She's in town. I've seen her come by for snacks." Jaymes says "But I couldn't tell you where she lives"

As he talks he keeps loading stuff up. The three can keep talking

"Well, that's a start - and a relief. I tried to call Vali, you know? But either it was a bad connection, or someone hung up on me. Maybe I dialed wrong."

A brow lift "mmm" (Yup. Tiffany's getting cranky)

Then Jaymes looks at Frank "Wonder if she knows about the new redcap?" Meaning Prissy, not Tiffany

Or Piper, for that matter. Frank shakes his head. "Maybe. New 'cap's a childling, in class with Connor. Prissy is in high school? Not likely they'd cross paths there."

"Ah" A nod, then Jaymes looks over at Piper "If I see her should I have her call you? "

She looks uncertain, then, straightens up. "I'm not sure if she's still GOING to school, to be honest. I think she was a senior, and, well - would she keep going if no one was making her?"

"I might just be speaking from personal experience, though." She allows.

"Vali's our contact there. Maybe Lut."

A brow lift but Jaymes lets it be

"Really? REALLY?" She turns, and the little Satyr's temper flares. "You know what, yeah, it's Vali's job. But you know what else? I thought Rivervale was a COMMUNITY. Like, one for all and shit? But you know what? Ever since you 'retired', it's like YOU have given up. DOn't think people haven't noticed. -I

"I've noticed, and it's not just from Siv being worried about you!"

A little stamp of a hoof. "You're retired, you're a grump - you're not DEAD!"

"I don't even LIVE at the lodge, but I'm seeing it! How do you think it looks to people who DO?"

Jaymes looks about "he.. did just help me with this shipment, Piper" An ahem

"Ooooh! I could just...." She shakes her head.

"That's a surprise! Was that because Vali wasn't here to carry it for you?"

Jaymes frowns "Piper. the man has earned his rest"

"Yeah, right. Rest doesn't mean turning OFF. Doesn't mean turning down everyone who needs help. Just pass the buck!"

She has turned a bit red with her rant, and frowns. "I'm just going to go. I'm sorry for the disruption, Mister Ironhawk. I'll go look for Prissy myself."

Piper isn't quite massive enough to storm out, but it's least a bit of a brisk rain.

Jaymes watches her storm off.

Frank watches her sprinkle off.
