Carnival for Bergen was a County Wide thing, and a great relief to the various barons that their Count would take things in style.

Of course, others went even further afield, so Carnival was as hectic, or oddly easy going as one wanted.

Brekke has occasionally hosted a local Rivervale Carnivale, and this experience has given her an ever-greater appreciation for the times when the holiday happens at Caer Falken.

A good portion of her evening is spent keeping watch that nobody treat her liege too harshly.

Olgar may fuss , dressed in his Stay puft marrshmellow man outfit "So you're saying I can'tt throw the pie at him?" the 'pie' is the size of a kiddy swimming pool

Brekke gives Olgar a look.

"I've got him, Chieftain." Kerri takes Olgar by the elbow and draws both him and the pie away. She whispers to him, "We gotta put a Veiled Eyes on you, first."

"Always looking out for me" he nuzzles Kerri

"Hey, I made that big honkin' pie for a reason."

One addition this year that some appreciate is a couple of nannnies who are offering free baby sitting for very young kids. Suffice to say, Tove is dragging Jaymes out to the dance floor. Tiffany and Vali get to socialize!

Kerri manages a whispered negotiation, and perhaps a bit of dross changes hands.

A few DeBukes migght be in the Crowd, or maybe it's other visitinn trolls

Sylvi notices the apparent DeBukes and gives a wave, even if she doesn't quite recognize all of them in particular.

Soon enough, Olgar is veiled.

And when Fool Hemlock 'trips' into a pie the size of a kiddy pool... many laugh

Kerri runs interference so Brekke is as distracted as possible at the moment of pastry shenanigans.

And then she gives Brekke a wry shrug.

The Chieftain gives the Hearth a glare, but...well...it's the duty of the Count to play the fool this night.

the mortal king, a college age guy seems very distracted by tthe pretty ladies.. but he doesn't get handsy... those who ask about his back story find out he snuck in 100 copies of MAUS into his old high school

For this fae like dead of cunning, he was rewarded with enchantment, and he is So totally buzzed he's likely nott too do much harm

Oh, he's definitely a straight-up hero! Sylvi makes sure to serve him a drink herself.

"Sway outfit" he blinks goofily "thanks for the drink"

"My pleasure!" she says and gives him a wink...and a string of Carnivale beads around his neck.

Oh he's happy.

"Should I be jealous?" Colton grins.

She smiles at Colton as she returns to him, leaving a beaming Carnivale King in her wake. "Hey, he gets the special treatment today. You get the extra special treatment."

"Yay" And he playfully grabs for her beads

"Whoop!" she dodges the grab. "You didn't say pleee-eeease!" she sing-songs, backing away.

A playful chase may commence "Puh Leeze Baby Please..."

When two trolls playfully chase through a party, it makes something of an impression.

"EARTH QUAKE" Eden yells "Snakes and childlings first"

Clearly she's not as shy as she used to be

Frank stands near Brekke for all this.

Brekke watches the proceedings with...well...an air of surrender? Her people are behaving nonsensically...but it is Carnivale.

"Chieftain," Baron Kealan approaches, dressed like Nick Fury from the movies, if the man wore a glittering trench coat and eye patch instead of black leather "How are you?"

"Hello, Baron. Happy Carnivale. I am well, thank you. Yourself?"

Brekke's festiveness is, as always, understated.

"Happy Carnival" he repeats "Busy. Quite busy, and... a bit worried but that's normal. In my line of work there's always something to worry about"

A brow. "Anything specific you can share?" A glance to Frank includes that she'd like it to be shared with Frank as well, if possible.

Frank nods to the Baron.

"One of my daughters" he says "normally she asks I keep her identity discrete so no one shows her favor, but as it's Carnival she cann't really take revenge."

And the Baron nods to Frank

Curious eyebrows. "Yes? Go on."

"Well, Isla has been so 'oh, scathach shouldn't have titles, father' and so on. Starting to regret I ever sent her to the House elders for study, when she returned, new use name and ...new attitude. But she's good at what she does. "

"Is the new attitude a good one, do you think?"

"Have have a daughter tell you you weren't Gwydioning right?" Wryly

If Kerri is listening, she may recall Isla is the Thane that seemed to annoy Tig, and vice versa

A bemused look. "I have received some very pointed looks that might suggest annoyance. However, I think neither of our daughters would actually say as much."
