"Oh thanks honey but.. I don't swing that way" Yes, Miss ANders actually says that

She steps out into the hall

The kinain gulps "Point made"

Sylvi stands there, eyes wide for a moment. Then she shakes her head and tosses out the make-up stained paper towel. That's gonna be trouble.

She heads out of the bathroom and seeks out Dagmar on the way to her next class.

Dagmar has a Glower.

Sylvi mutters, "I hope I got her to see she could lose her job for being stupid...but she thought I was coming on to her!"

"Any luck with Vali?"

"He said he was on it..."

Indeed, Mr. Gardener is in the hallway heading towards Miss Anders room. Some wilder students shoot him dirty looks. Clearly word is out he's putting a halt on any flirting with the youthful teacher until he's checked on her

Sylvi nods when she spots him, then says, "Let's go. I've got class, and I do NOT want a front-row seat for whatever happens next. He'll text us if he needs us."

"If I find out who messed with her..."

"It was Samhain," Sylvi whispers. "For all you know, it might have been...well, me."

"I don't think it was, but..."

They happen to have the same class, but what surprises them is the teacher, another new teacher, this one, a Kithain! And not just a changeling, but a sluagh.

HOw the heck are they going to hear her whisper across the room?

"Today's just full of surprises," Sylvi mutters to Dagmar, then takes her seat, watching the new teacher carefully.

Grunt, nod. She settles in at her desk near her friend.

She has some sort of screen display, and when she types on the lap top, it proejects "Welcome to American Sign Language. There will be no words spoken in this class. " Then she makes hand gestures, for what must be the same phrase

One student says "But how are we..." She points to the el cheapo note pad waiting on his desk

A blink...and a grin. Of course.

THe student mutters "you're kidding..."

Sylvi give the teacher an easy thumbs-up. I mean, at least that's generally understood gesture language, right?

Brow!

The sluagh walks to him and lowers her glasses giving the young man a low level look, her fingers flying...then she returns to type out 'If you are frustrated at being thrust into a world of silence, then congratulations, you begin to understand where this language arose. It will be slow, frustrating, and you will feel like the world is hiding things from you, holding you back. Then you begin to grasp why ASL Is needful. Empathy is key. I am Miss Trudny Mądrość.'

A smile, and thumbs up to Sylvi, just so.. and she teaches them their first phrase. Over the next fifteen minutes, she teaches them how to say, in sign 'You don't understand, I'm not trapped in here with you. You're all trapped in here with me'

And she goes to work trying to learn.

It's.. an interesting class. She does pull them aside when it's over and whispers "I was surprised at how many ..kithain are here. If you need to leave class early, provided it does not affect your grades, I under stand your years are a time for adventure. Kindly do not abuse this" And she lets them go

As for Miss Anders, sometime around lunch, she is dressed more modestly, make up greatly reduced. It would appear Vali's winder magics dimmed her passions. Though the cause? They'll have to ask him
