"And I know I need to help Nadeen with this but she just... it's her new boyfriend and I just... I still like her, and..."

Hiccup. "I crushed it. May texted me about Dad, about him being shot..."

"Yeah, that's got to be hard..." she says about Nadeen.

A thoughtful look. "I've never tried to do Spring work on technology...but I can try, if you want?"

Hiccup.

A hand on her back. "It's been a lot."

She nods.

Sylvi nods, too, but she doesn't say anything else, just stands there with her hand on Dagmar's back, listening if she wants to say anything else...or not.

Another hiccup. "Sorry."

"S'Okay."

Sniffle. "You should... the Farm and stuff..."

"Want me to take a look at that phone before I go, though?"

She bites on her lip... then nods.

" 'Kay. Show me."

"I'll get it." Tromping away and upstairs.

Sylvi quietly clears away the breakfast plates and puts them in the sink while Dagmar's upstairs.

It takes her a little longer than it should, and when she returns, her face appears freshly scrubbed.

If Sylvi notices that, she doesn't say so.

She offers out the sad phone. It's an off-brand Samsung, but in a pretty blue metallic.

The screen is crazed by a hundred spiderweb cracks, and the body of the phone itself is distorted - Dagmar's strength is no joke, though she usually exhibits more care.

"Okay...." Sylvi carefully takes the phone and looks it over. "It looks like the whole screen is here, even if it's cracked, right?"

"I think so?"

She nods and looks it over some more. "Hmm." She considers. "Got a lot of things on here? Pictures and stuff?"

Sniff. "Symon got them off. On a USB."

"Oh, that's good. Like, I bet you have a lot of shots of the horses you took with this."

She nods. "Yeah... and Odin, and the dogs... it... yeah."

Sylvi grins. "And CJ?"

"Uh-huh. He's growing so fast."

"He is," she agrees.

"And I have you on Instagram, so I see all your videos...."

Fingers carefully travelling over the contours of the phone, tracing it's warped shape.

"I share the animals on there, sometimes... just, like, everybody online likes them..."

A smile about the Instagram. "That's cool."

"I love those posts, about the animals. It's like I can almost smell them."

"And there's this dumb cat game... like... there's nothing... you leave out toys, and you see different cats come to play with them, and it's nice?"

"There's this other thing - if Chief did phones, she'd like it... you can take a picture of a plant and it helps you ID it... I just... I used it for a lot of dumb stuff..."

"That plant thing sounds useful. I mean, I bet the Chieftain knows them all, but I'd probably poison my dumb ass if I tried to forage without help."

"Nahhhh."

The glamour gathering is subtle, a little zephyr of energy forming where Sylvi's fingers move over the phone.

"Remember when CHief took us camping? You did fine."

"Did you have pictures from that?" Sylvi says, a little line between her brows as she is concentrating harder.

"Uh-huh. When we did that obstacle course? The one in the middle of the woods, felt like?"
