"Damn it. Did it get through?" She's not sure.

Gerd says "hey, calm down..."

A tinkling sound, like metal breaking.... the chain, the necklace of simple links... as fortune has it, is not up to the weight hanging from it. A thud as the shoe slides and hits the ground.... and a deep inhalation, breath returned to labored lungs.

Whether she can sense this or not... she feels that something got through.

"Calm down.... they're torturing him I... the horse shoe....." She says "if it's cold iron.."

Gerd says "It explains why we couldn't read him"

"Well, not as well"

"Texting" Gerd says

"textinng?" The Varich blinks "oh.. I feel so foolish"

"err she's not answering" Gerd says

Nadeen looks worried "If Dagmar is fighting those garou..."

"If she's FIGHTING them she's dead"

Nadeen texts as well, sending a more detailed text .. a long one, of what she heard and saw

"And no answer for me" Nadeen says "Better scry her too"

And Nadeen proceeds to do so. A bit more glamour and she looks

"She's ghosting us why she cuddles with some GOTH chick?" Nadeen hisses

"HEY" Gerd says!

"this is so primitive" Nadeen tries.. to CALL

"there are WERE RAVENS? Holy shit.. that's so much cooler than Wolves" Gerd says

Nadeen hangs up, and she keeps scrying as best she can.

"Gerd. I can't stop sdcrying this. I want you scrying someoen else"

"The horses?" Gerd says

"No. Calantthe" Nadeen says "I want to know if she's behind this"

"Or she might see me back, and attack somehow. Life is fun"

Gerd casts the runes... and reads from her own location

and As for Nadeen? She sees them by the water then.. "I've lost them"

Calanthe is not sipping wine, nor is she appear angry.... she is standing before the bale, brooding. The silver lights flicker a little stronger, and her lips purse. "Come on..." She whispers...

And so Gerd watches. Is she scrying?

She appears to be kenning, hands out, feeling the strength of the bale.

Feeling it, or seizing it? I wonder she kens through it as best she cna

"Nadeen. I have an idea... I need you to make a call" Gerd says

(dingle lingle bleep... dingle lingle bleep.....) Calanthe stands and checks her phone, momentarily distracted from her constant vigilance. "Who is it?" She snaps. "This is an unlisted number."

Her tone turns smooth and sharp, a dagger wrapped in silk. "Was this your doing? It stinks of Varich plotting, though I'd have expected you here already."

"Was what my doing?"

Meanwhile Gerd scries for more clues..seeing how bad the fire is

Nadeen considers She really is on the Barons side?

"Either you know what I mean, and you are a traitor to our hold- or you are ignorant and meddling in things you cannot begin to understand..."

The Fire is low, but not banked, not coals... and even as Gerd watches, flames start to flicker a little higher.

She starts to respond, but then a gasp, and the phone clicks off - As Calanthe returns to watching the Balefire.... running a hand above the level of the flickering flames, and feeling the faint strands of cantrips still in place...

To Gerd, she may seem to be... weaving her hands through the air, pulling on a complex cat's cradle with invisible twine... but the fire does not seem hurt or damaged...

Gerd watches "Damn it. Part of me was hoping to find something rotten on her part so we could... "

Nadeen says "Yes, Gerd. I know. "

The Balefire suddenly flares up and Calanthe is nearly thrown backwards in surprise!

"Ha" Gerd says "the bale is back!"

"YES!" Nadeen beams!

"Look, Nadeen, it's not my place to say but you... are you scrying again?"

"Got to make sure their horses are okay" Nadeen says "I promised"
