"Oh! Hey! Dagmar!" Sylvi fishes out her phone. "She has...she can do...y'know, she can freeze the things!" Speed dialing Dagmar.

"Trouble. Need your help with the frosty powers." She gives the address. "If you can Veil yourself before getting here, even better."

"Um. I can't veil..."

"How long does this stupid veil last?" The redcap mutters as the texting goes on

"Just get here, then. It's bugs," she adds as an incentive to hurry.

"Well, I'll get there soon as I can. Can't bike and talk."

Sylvi disconnects. "Not sure," she says to Dirk.

Dirk sniffs the air "Yeah.. okay"

"What? You smell something?" She takes a sniff too.

"Yeah..whenever one of em dies, it doesn't just create a light.. it's making smells. But the smells change. I got baked bread, and pines, and cinnamon I think"

Another sniff "Some I didn't recognize"

"I only really got time to notice it now" He says "Making me hungry"

Sylvi's nose, ruined by such things as lightly applied perfume and good hygene, appears not to pick up as much. But there are wifts of what he suggests

"Senses! Memories! They eat memories and when they die they. .... release them?

"Some of the memories come back." He affirms.

Dirk blinks but yes, it does make sense what Adam says.. the kids may recall that scent is strongly associated with memories. Baked Bread as a child. Pines of a forest where one got their first kiss. The past has smells.

".... But that doesn't help fight them."

"I...oh, then the people inside are...they're recovering. We kill more of these things, and more of those people revive. But we still need to lure them out...or go in there."

"When Dagmar gets here, she can freeze them, and we'll be able to kill them more easily. But we'll need to be bait."

"How do you bait memory ticks? I mean.. do they want just the good memories?"

"That's for the loose ones. Then we have to go in and get the ones that are attached."

Dagmar pulls up in her bike , the airbrush of the horse design on in and lightning bolt decals ala thor

"I have an idea.... but they would need to see me."

"Well, they went after me, and Adam...did any try to bite you, Dirk?"

"Yeah" he shows his arm where one had to be bit out

"Hey guys?"

"Okay, that doesn't narrow it down. Adam, do what you're going to do so Dagmar can see you. We've got your back."

A fluttering.. light buzz in some of the hedge rows as Dagmar announces herself

Adam steps forward and waves to Dagmar, calling "Hey, I'm testing an idea.... see if I can attract 'em!"

Then he closes his eyes and concentrates.

"Oh, there you are!"

As Adam lets the veil fade... he begins THINKING... this trick, relatively untested by teenagers.... well, let's see how it works

Sylvi has her spear ready, and she's watching carefully.

And then theres' a quivering, a shivering... and the buzzing increases!

Grumble. "I hate bugs, man."

There are fewer ticks than there were! But still three launch towards Adam! Right in front of Dagmar's eyes, hideous golfball sized (or slightly bigger) head suckers!

She rubs her hands together briskly, then fans them open and blows towards the bugs.

The shock of cold steaks towards the ticks! The ticks streak towards Adam. So perhaps it's natural that while the ticks get the cold full on! Adam also catches a piece of it as a chill strikes his side HARD

The ticks , those three anyway, are stunned

And indeed, cracking a bit

Sylvi watches, hesitant to break the veil too soon.

"Ugh!" Adam grunts and staggers, grabbing his side. His eyes pop open. "What the hell, did they get me?!?!"

Dirk forgets himself and goes forwward to smash one of the stunned ones that might be alive.. and memory leaks from it

"You got some blow-over, sorry." She stomps on a downed tick.

Sylvi knows there are more...there were at least six in the area before.

Watching the others, in case somebody is getting snuck up on.

Dirk turns smashing another "Show yoruselves you miserable little brainfuckers!"

And that does it, more are scattered out of a bush.. intimidated into action

Grumble. She makes "spirit fingers" in a gesture that mimes falling snow. "Freeze, bitches."
