It's a new day, and Dagmar is still riding high

SIxteen!

Indeed! She got gifts! So many gifts... and wile not all were mega big gifts, for the gal who started out in the system and unloved, every gift is a sign that someone out there likes her!

She is, in fact, wearing the Star t-shirt and the new sneakers...

Meanwhile, over the land, a compulsion to ask her out falls on all the boys due to the power of sweet 16

fortunately this is not the case

but she does find herself put to work ... for it is lawn mowing time

Tove says "I could probably do it" She says "But your father won't let me. And he's at the shop"

"I like mowing."

She does, however, change to an OLD pair of shoes.

Good idea!

The ones that look ready to fall apart it is!

"You actually like it? Huh" Tove is surprised

"Made good money last summer."

"That's true" She remembers "You worked your tail off. I thought you'd be sick of grass after that." Her mother steps back "I'll make sure you have a cold drink when you finish"

"I got basketball out of it." She points out.

"Touche" She says "Does this mean you won't want the cold drink after this?"

"That does not follow." Stoic.

A less stoic smile "I suppose it does not. Mow away" And she steps back

And she heads out to mow.

The m owing goes well... She's got practice.

And the 'yard' part of their property is small.. lots of trees.

So it goes fast enough. And Connor, bless his little heart, is still good about sticks.

YES he is.

And speaking of Connor...

He's not here.

Ah well.

Yes.. but that's not the mama or papa.. it.. oh my how she's grown, it's one of the cubs.. only she doesnt' look like a cub anymore

"Hello!" A wave!

Wings unfurl a bit, could be a greeting, could be ready to fly in case of trouble.

Then "Hello" A response back "I remember you"

"You're looking very grown up!"

"Thank you, the seasons have been kind to you too," She wags until she realizes that's undignified dog motion and holds it more stoically "My wings are full sized now"

"They are! Are you enjoying flying?"

"Of course, particularly when the spring winds want to play like today" She flies from the branch.

A delighted laugh. "Oh, you're wonderful!"

A loop de Lupe, so to speak, and she returns a compliment "Thank you. I like your fangs." And why not? Trolls often half a wolf like grin when it shows "I am called Sky waltzer.. I am told it is a very lovely type of dance the waltz. Very dignfiied"

"I've seen waltzes - they're nice and twirly, yeah? I'm not a good dancer, but it's a good name for you."

"Thank you, you may call me Waltz for short." She says "When I was a cub, some called me wobbly" A deep sigh "Alas, I had only milk teeth then"

"Well, wouldn't they feel foolish now?"

"Thank you" She is a lovely wolf, her coat has a blue tinge to the gray

"So you are friends to the Dancingsnow yes?"

"Nadeen? Yes,"

"She's the one who said I moved like a Waltz." a nod "She says one day she may find new hunting grounds and if she does, she may invite some of us to it... for we must spread out a bit, you know?"

"That makes sense. She's a Baroness, you know..."

"I know, but I don't know what that means. Father says it's like a pack hierarchy"

"A bit. It means she can claim land and be responsible to protect it."
