Earlier...

May was happy to visit, happy to study.. but Tove guided things to hobbies.. favorite books... and more.

And, of course, snacks... nobody goes hungry in a King household...

"Well, sure, I love all sorts of music Mrs King but I dont' know what symbolism I equate the nicer music with...well, you'd think it's silly."

"What's silly?" Tove encourages

"Well, my uncle has these pictures of whales floating through the stars. I always thought it was cool. Talked to Siv about it once.. she's nuts about the sea. I just thought the whales looked amazing"

Tove smiles "Very Progressive Rock."

"There's a conservative rock?" May says confused

"I think that's, like, Kid Rock?"

Tove says "Interesting you should ask.. I've been studying old music and.. well, check out some of these old Albulm covers..." And she shows several from the 70s

"Hunh. Dad music."

"Wow, they had some seriously good drugs back then" May says after observing

"I know, right?" Tove says

"A flying whale would be cool."

"Yes, but what type of whale?" Tove asks

"Oh, a humpback, they're the ones that leap and dance the most breaking through the surface... " May says "I can just imagine one bursting out of clouds and going higher to the stars and then diving again... into the twlightl purple clouds anew... it would..."

A happy sigh as Sam listens.

And there's a woosh of glamour as May describes it.... something... rushed out of the house. IT had to.. no room here

"oo.. sorry, got dizzy" May says.

"here...Sam, go on get her a nother drink" Tove whispers to her daughter "And peek out the window."

"Sure thing..."

She hops up to do so.

And sure enough... she sees it..moving into the clouds and heading for the sunset

at first, it's mostly a shape in the light, but it takes deeper form and texture.

And the humpback is flying into the darkening sky to play with the stars

Sam smiles.

And how long it will last, she's not sure, but surely such a dream can only help bring wonder to the world

When Dagmar brings back the soda, May thanks her, and goes back to studying. Tove shoots a curious look but seems sure something DID arise.

A nod, confirming.

Tove smiles and winks, then seems to encourage a return to the mundane... later, she'll explain to Sam how you can't tap out a dreamer too quickly too often... but for now?

Sam gets to study with May as they tackle science.

(and snacks!)

Well, of course snacks. Those must be tackled fiercely!
