"Yeah." Regretfully. "Ok." But he doesn't let go of her hand as they start to walk back to the car.

He even opens her door for her.

He drives her home quietly.

While the porch light at the Dutch Farmhouse type building is on, it's a soft light, and there are no faces peeking out the window- that anyone can see anyway

Adam ducks his head to look up at the door. "They're waiting up for you." With a confident, sure grin.

"Yeah, they are. Trolls."

"Ok. Well. Guess I oughta walk you up." He murmurs, watching her.

"Well, sure."

"Ok." He pauses another moment.

"Awright, let's go." He gets out and comes around to her side.

She smiles and walks up to the porch with him.

He snags her hand again, easy and natural.

Barking from with in, high pitched

"TwoBit sounds the alarm..."

"Yeah, I'll let you go here so TwoBit can chill." On the porch. "So. Maybe that other movie next weekend, or the one after? And practice through the week, right? Oh, basketball practice schedules are out, I'll send you mine. And the game schedule. Can I get yours?"

"Totally! I'll send it when I get up on the laptop..."

"Ok, I'll send mine back."

"Ok..." Shy/awkward smile, shrug.

"Ok." He squeezes her hand. "I'll text you tomorrow."

"Sounds good." Squeeze.

"Ok." Soft. "See you later."

"Yeah..." An awkward pause, long, then a blush and she turns to the door. She looks over her shoulder as she opens it. "Seeya."

"See ya." He says, and seeing she has the door open, heads down the walk; he does stop at the car to see she's safely inside.

She lurks, silhouetted by the kitchen light, and waves when he gets to the car.

A flash of a smile in the dark, under the streetlights, and he gets in and drives away.

"Two minutes before ten. Good work" A grunt "Hope it went well?"

"Yeah. The movies was fun, and then we went for a walk."

"I showed him that clearing with the blue sprites?"

A nod "Your mother likes those too. "

"They're pretty." She nods. "So... yeah. It was nice."

Mmph, then "I'm glad. I ... know I can be ...protective. Your mom says dating is ..normal. and that we ..well.. you know if things go bad you can always talk to us. Kay? And.. if things go good and your'e happy... that's good too. I'll try not to be.. that dad, but it's a lot harder than parking further back"

"Well, he thinks you're intimidating."

Her father smiles.

A voice calls out, Tove "Did you tell her?"

"Going to" He says, then says "Because you.. both got here on time... if ..." Jaymes mmmph "Well, if you go again... not that you have to... but you.. you can be out till 10:15 ..."

A thump from the next room as if a wall is being tapped

"10:30" he corrects... "You can be out till 10:30 before you have to call. It's..not meant like a carrot so much as.. well, other kids stay out later and you're... not a child. so..10:30."
