May says "Lupe, we're embarrassing her and she's had a rough day"

Lupita holds her hands up, "Okay. My bad... and it's cool either way there's nothing wrong with it. Sides, we both know how it is- if he's going on the boy's team? He needs one of us to show him how REAL ball is played around here"

She unshrinks a little. "Yeah."

"Definitely yeah," LUptia says "The three of us? You know wer'e starters this year, and the moves we learned at basketball camp? Sam you know you're 20% faster on the pick up now. And May? You always had a good passing game, now you're taking shots with confidence." Lupita says "Of course, I? Remain the point of our spearhead as the player who puts Winna in Latina" Lupita says ignoring how she's violating possibly two languages to make a point.

May just smiles, feeling more confident already

"I do not think that rhyme actually works, Gonzales."

"It does in it's original Amazon" Lupita assures them both.

That makes May giggle

A brief grin. "Fine, fine."

"Thank you" Lupita says happily

May says "We're going to also have to focus on our studies. If we're away for more games and stuff. We can't let our GPA's slip"

"Uhg. Well, Symon is helping me with Trig, and Lupe, you got my back in Spanish..."

"Yeah you do know that just because I speak it doesn't mean I speak it like they wnat in the books though right?" She warns, then mutters "Spanglish my ass"

"Well, better than me."

"True. Symon is helping with Trig huh? Wonder if he'd help me with my math stuff?"

"Maybe?"

"Maybe not.. he's skittish at times" Lupita says

"He's also kind of creepy, but..nice?" May says

"Well, kind of creepy - but not actually creepy? It's the goth thing."

They both nod at that.

"He is nice, though. My best guy friend."

"Jimmy's still mine... it's nice having an ex you like as a friend" May says

"Totally."

Lupita ponders "My best GUY friend? Huh"

"uhm.. are you and Dirk still a ..." May isn't sure how to say this "Thing?"

"Dirk is... Lupita sighs "I don't know what Dirk and I are. It's...complicated. He's such an asshole." Then "But he gets me?"

"Well, I mean, there's you two, as my best girl friends..."

May gives a fist pump "Yes, I'm in the top five"

Lupita gives may a LOOK.

"What? I'm sometimes underconfident, we know this," May says

"I don't think I could pick, like, a best-best friend, and Sylvi and Siv are family, you know?"

"So, yes, absolutely top five."

"Yay" May says again

Lupita rolls her eyes and then... a figure strides close.

"Hey, Lupita," A well muscled Latino boy comes up, his hair has that forelock some women like to play with (Though it should be noted nothing reaches true August levels). There is something familiar about him. He's got kind eyes.

Dagmar tilts her head, trying to figure him out.

"Do I know..." Lupita blinks "Juan ? Juan Carlos?" ANd the name brings everything back.

The image of a pudgy oily skinned guy with dorky glasses going to the games! One of Lupita's cousins! He was sweet! But now he's... uhm... no glasses, and he's.. gone from obese to yes please... maybe a touch on the swole side but wow.

"I go by JC when I can" He says with a grin, "yeah. You don't recognize me? I went to like the games to see you girls." A grin, "Hey, Sam. I Heard you nailed it at Camp."

"Camp was okay. Hey, May - you remember JC?" Nudge.

May's eyes go from his arms, then lower then YANK up again... "Oh sure.. yeah.. I remember Man.. I mean Juan.." She laughs "I mean.. CJ..JC.. you. I remember you. You've worked out."

Lupita looks at May in a 'what is wrong with you?' kind of way

"I hit a camp too, for me it was like this big weight training and diet... okay, it was a fat camp" He admits "Oh, and I got contacts"

An encouraging nudge for May. "Yeah?"

"Good looks" May chimes. Lupita elbows her under the table in to the side and like an old record skipping May says "Looks good"

"Thanks. Hey, I'll see you girls this season too" CJ smiles... "i'm trying out to be a spirit leader"

Lupita blinks "You're going to be a male cheer leader?"

"Awesome! We'll see you at the games! Wait til you see how good May has gotten!"
