A Look at Frank, "What?"

Once inside, Dagmar notices the place looks cleaner, like someone really tidied it up, taking it from, oh, just 'anywhere' and putting that 'bergen_county' touch on it.

Fruit for Snow. Food for Odin and TwoBit. Uhg, the Box.

Twobit is happy to see her and reports the house is secure. Odin looks irritated and has opinions about this cleaning that's gone on. Snow isn't to be found but will appreciate the fruit.

Meanwhile outside, Jaymes awaits

Frank shrugs. "She seems happy. Good."

He makes a gesture of wavering hand "She seems upset at the Chief on Adam's behalf. "

Frank nods. "Does it seem to you like she understands on one level, but on another it seems unfair?"

"You mean Dagmar's take? Tove indicated yes. But you know kids. You have a point and they clam up. They have a point and get chatty" Of course, Dagmar chatty means like whole sentences were used in the debate.

Frank nods. "Good." A pause. "Think maybe one reason for her outrage is that she might have a crush? Or vice versa?"

"She's not supposed to get crushes" He grumbles, a bit at frank as if it were his fault. "But yes. Tove...says the boy is..flirty. I'm not sure just with Dagmar"

That prompts Frank to introspection. "Hmphm."

And then frown.

"Flirty." He says to confirm.

A nod "Not sure I've seen so much of it myself. But yeah according to Tove and others"

A surprised blink. "He flirted with Tove?"

"Better not have. Just mean Tove says he flirts with girls"

Now Frank scowls. "Hmmphm." This one more final-sounding.

Sigh. "We're supposed to just roll with that right? If it's so?"

"Did you flirt with girls when you were his age?"

"mmmph" A pause "Well... I brought one venison once."

"That's something." A pause. "I didn't. There was just Gina, for me."

"Did we do it wrong? Back then"

A shrug. "Gina's Jessica's mom, I can't fault that." Another beat, and a flicker of resignation crosses his face. "Damn."

"What?"

A sigh. "Have to talk to Brekke."

"mmph. Ok. " His brrother is welcome to share, but Jaymes isn't the sort to push

And Jaymes understands that sometimes it's husband-wife, sometimes Mountain-Storm, sometimes Knight- Baroness.

"Well." He stands. "Guess I should get to that." He glances at the door. "Fight practice?"

"Mph yeah... the boy needs to learn how to defend himself. So he's going to use that staff though I suppose he'd prefer a sword. When he's enchanted, he's vulnerable so we teach, right?" He glances back "Dagmar wants it so.. " A shrug "Between that and her, yes. Tove maybe teaching. She's very good with a staff. Was poor on Thyle, but staves are ..affordable if you know how to carve wood, which she does."

Frank nods. "Makes sense." Another glance inside. "Good luck."

"Thanks. Gonna need it. " A pause "About the Dragon. Try to make sure Dagmar understands she can't just quest after it solo, okay?"

"I haven't told her about it. You tell her."

"mmph. I will." His expression indicating he's not looking forward to it, "See you around, Frank."

"Olgar keeps beer in the fridge. Come by sometime." He nods and heads off.

A bit of a smile at that, a nod, and then he turns and goes inside.

Later, a knock at the door of the Barn house.

"I GOT IT" Dag thunders.

A moment, and the kitchen door opens - kitchen, of course, for friends and family. Only outsiders go to the front door.

"Hey." It's Sylvi, looking...well, a bit stressed.

"Hey!" A pause. "Hey?"

"Um...." Hesitance. "Did you hear?"

"...Did someone die?"

"No! No, nobody....no, just...I figured you'd know, because Frank was coming to talk to your Dad....Um. There's trouble coming. It's bad."

"Oh? What kind of trouble? Do we get to fight?"

"Sounds like it, yeah." She shifts awkwardly on the threshold of the kitchen door.

"Oh, right - come in. Need iced tea? Pop?"

"Iced tea is good, thanks. Hey, TwoBit." She acknowledges the official guard of the house as she takes a seat on a kitchen stool.
