Tucked into one of the repaired pages was a folded sheet of heavy paper. It holds a careful drawing that is not decorative nir artistic, but exact. Measurements are written neatly in the margins, checked and rechecked, with small notes added beside them.
The drawing shows a simple stand: a flat base, a raised lip to support the spine, and a clear panel set above the pages. Arrows indicate how each part fits together. Short notes sit beside the components, written in Art’s precise hand: smooth wood, no sharp edges, panel must lift easily, weight here so it does not tip. In one corner, a more hesitant note is written, then underlined: easy to clean.
Thistle’s eyes, used to far more complex schematics, immediately are able to piece together what the device WOULD be- a Book protector, with See-through cover, like a cookbook stand to keep flour and such off pages. But, on a more robust scale… Beneath that, there are a few shorthand notes… acid? Flame retardant? Must not be SHINY…
The page is well creased and shows eraser marks, clearly something revised and thought over quite a bit.
Clearly the idea was fleshed out, but has not come to fruition.
