"You are th'most annoying to have around, for sure. Total distraction." The tips of her ears are redder than normal.

He reaches over and lightly taps the tip of one ear. "You're glowing, Rudolph."

She ducks her head, blushing harder. "Um."

He gives her a shoulder nudge, and just grins at her.

She looks up at him through her lashes, quietly enamoured, before clearing her throat and shaking it off. "So. You can bring the hunk of rust over tomorrow? We'll need to buckle down to get it ready for Christmas."

"Sure, or you can come by the house. Mom is making... well, she calls it 'goulash', but it's really just tomatoes and meat sauce on elbow macaroni. It's good though!" He aadds quickly.

"Oh, harder to hide it from Wain then." He adds, belatedly.

"Right now it's in the garage behind the lawnmower where no one will find it. Not that the lawnmower works..."

A wry look. "I could fix that too. But not until after New Year's."

"Bet I could smuggle some Marigold cookies if I came by."

A laugh. "It would be more of a challenge to get out the door WITHOUT any."

"Shrimp-boggles, you're on to my devious schemes."

He grins. "Should I get us some now? Before Briar eats the last tray?"

"Especially since the snickerdoodles are the best, yeah."

"I'm actually partial to the chocolate crinkles with the peppermint bits."

"Also good, but, well, Marigold cookies."

"Marigold cookies!" He agrees heartily!
