The two Neverlanders drift closer, one pale yellow with a daffodil petal hat, the other pale blue with a cornflower crown.
When Thistle asks about Citrine, the yellow one shrugs grandly — “Chime-chime!”
The blue one spins, giggles, and lands on a rock. “Chiiime!”
They glance at each other, then eastward.
“Chime...” they say in unison, softer now, before darting off into the wildflowers, leaving a trail of pollen and pixie dust in their wake.
