"Only down side might be it woulnd't work as well in front of the unencdhanted but still..." She ponders that "Maybe I need to seek that out for my quest . I need to find a craftsperson who can do it"

A complicated expression and slightly dulling spirals, but then Thistle nods. "I guess, yeah."

She reaches out, then taps Thistle "Found one. Darn, quick quest"

She scowls. "Don't."

"Don't?" a tilt of her head

"But Wudlig's probably worth talking to. Or Darkgate." She rakes back her hair (seasonally appropriate green and red). "Dougal would know."

"Okay hey... 'don't'? Don't what? I trust you a lot more than Wudlig for this. He 'hides' things... that's great, but won't help mom."

"I'm ..honestly confused. " She admits "I think I stepped wrong with you and I am not sure how"

"You need to find a good craftsperson. Who can do that. And I don't need you to furkin' patronize me, okay?"

"I could go to the guild?"

A jaw set "I'm not patronizing you. "

A sigh "This was easier to read when I was a boggan."

"Bes Din has experts on just about everything. And some Nockers are also Dougal."

"They also don't respond for YEARS, and charge through the nose so I'd end up serving them for decades to pay off" A beat "I know it's not your area of expertise, but I think you would be... you're smart... and you know materials. Chimerical Alchemy, even if you weren't comfortable doing it by yourself you would have good ideas and could work with others maybe? I.. she's my MOM, Thistle. My mom. I don't trust just anybody with her. I don't know the Bes Din, or trust em. I don't even trust House Dougal that much."

She's all prickles. "Stop."

"Just... just do your quest, right? Like you said. You don't need to risk your mom to spare my feelings!"

"I'm not Risking my mom to spare your feelings " A glare "I'm saaying I trust YOU mroe than the damned Bes Din. "

She GLARES.

So they glare at each other "You know, I feel like I'm telling you why I'm saying things and you're calling me a liar to my face"

"No, I'm saying I believe what you said first." She huffs.

"And then you felt bad."

"Well, I didn't" She answers

She scowls into her sketchbook.

"I did not do the 'tag thing' out of pity. Now, was I trying to be clever? Maybe, and boy did that backfire because I ended up insulting YOU when I was trying to be funny about a grim subject or at least you took it as an insult. We've been using humor for over an hour and I guess my mom's situation DOES scare ms so I retreated to that again only this time it wasn't fun or funny because you thought I was showing pity on you. I was not."

A guilty frown and she shakes her head. "I don't know how to do it. It was just an idea."

"Then please, and don't make me beg, what was/is that idea? Even ideas give me more than I got now" She swallows

She twists her hands in her hair. "Just. Like I said."

"Braces, I guess. Powered ones."

"What would you power it with?" SHe inquriies "I'm not being snarky. I honestly don't know if you mean steam, Electricity or solar?"

"FUBARs."

"uhm" She blinks "You mentioned that before when we wer e in Goblin town, it's a nocker thing right?"

She nods.

"They're a kind of chimera. Not sentient, not like the Nevers."

"You can power stuff off of Nevers, but that's..." A scowl. "I don't like that."

"But instead of Chimerical metal ... a Fubar is Chimerical Energy ?"

"Basically."

"How do we get some of those?"

"I mean, can you make them?" Hopeful

She grimaces and shakes her head. "Not yet."

She nods "But at least I know FUBARS might be the way to go"

"Well, they're long lasting, and less volatile than other options."

"And so that would be safer for mom. Thank you" A grateful look "What if I could bring some Fubars to you?"

"I know how to use them, if that's what you mean. Integrate them into a system."

SHe nods "That gives me a lead I didn't have before then. Thank you"

She makes a mental note to get her hand on some Fubars

"Thanks again Thistle." A look at the time "I better feed the dogs at the kennel. We good?"

"Yeah."

"Cool" She starts to turn, then gives the nocker a hug "Merry Yule." And then she slips off

"You too..." She lingers for a bit, before retreating to her studio.
