Willy has found a conundrum

Something is odd about this latest batch of chimerical metal... it seems to..float?

Yup . It looks like good horse shoe making material, but floats in water

The nocker watches them float in the cooling trough suspiciously.

It seems to be much like regular metal otherwise... mmm some kind of volcanic rock pretending to be iron? is this thing FUNNING her?

Hmmph. Ok, then. She gets the tongs, hauls a chunk out, and gets it into the forge. Let's see how a little heat treats it.

It heats properly enough, no worse than iron (The good kind of iron), perhaps just a bit more even in distubition

It spreads like steel, and despite the floating in water seems strong. Mmm yes. Good quality steel

She scowls, and drops the stuff into the trough again before going to the ore-bin to figure out where this stuff came from.
