"You're going to have a runny nose with that" He makes sure she gets some tissues too and retreats

Next he tends to Linnae, knocking her door "Less angry thane? Coming in"

He'll have to remember to bring seconds to the redcap, he recalls. SHe didn't eat the plate or tray after all, and if her appetite is returning, it's the only way to be safe

Coughing. "Come in."

She doesn't look angry, but fairly miserable. She's supposed to be protecting them, but how can she protect against a virus?

Well, Danica is the ANGRY one in his book, though he's sure the sarge would say she's just doing her duty. "Hey, no soup this time. I Think you might like this, hope so" He offers the tray up. It occurs to him they may be running short on trays at this rate. "See what you think, good for congestion"

There is a cat in Linae's lap who may not want to share with a tray.

"Thank you, Ernie." A bit listlessly. She pats Pearl's head. "I don't have much of an appetite."

"Eat anyway" he says "If you can't finish it, I'll be back to take the remains, but try for at least half and see if it helps"

A sigh, and she eats. Without much enjoyment, but she does eat.

"Thanks" He says "Gotta go check on Marigold. I tried to feed the Baroness. She ORDERED me to feed the others first"

A rumble of protest. "Have the Baron bring her something. She may try to order him away, but good luck tearing him from her side."

"Good idea" he says "Thanks, Li.. er thane" He nods. And he heads off, to Marigold to see how she is doing

Aiden is stepping out of her room, and carefully latches the door. "Ernie." He says, a bit surprised. "What brings you here?"

The tired boy takes a moment to process that question, then realizes the Baron might not know WHO has been handling kitchen stuff? "I've food for marigold. SOmething a wee bit more solid than soup. Would you be willing to take the baroness her tray, my lord?"

"I'll take Nadeen's to her. Don't bother Marigold right now, though. She hasn't been able to drink much more than water. Linnea is worn out from using her glamour to Heatherbalm on her. But Mari is still feeling poorly. I think rest may be the best thing."

"Oh but.. my lord, Marigold must have something more than water. I can make a very fine broth" but he hands the tray he was going to give to Marigold to the Baron "For the Baroness then. I should get Briar seconds"

"Try the broth. I.." Then he pauses. Looking at the unfamiliar dish. "Who cooked this, ah... 'meal'?"

"I did, Baron. The Steward said folks were tired of soup so I switched. It's a bacon and kimichi dish seasoned in spices meant to help fight the congestion and that they can actually taste. Would you like some for yourself?"

He is giving the boy an appraising look, and tastes the dish meant for Nadeen. "Hm. An acquired taste, but it is well seasoned. A smart use of the materials on hand. I'll see if it will tempt my lady's appetite." He turns to walk away, but does say as he walks, "Keep up the good work, Apprentice Steward Madern."

"I..." Through the haze of worry about upsetting the baron, and the fact he himself is short of sleep and some food, the Piskie hears this and says "Thank you, Baron . I will" And he rushes down to get the redcap a second helping, and start that broth

.... Meanwhie, Nadeen can be...surly

"I ordered no food brought to me until the others were fed first" She says as she sees the tray before she notices who is carrying it

Cough" if the simpliest orders I give aren't to be..." more snurfling "Obeyed I shall.." then she realizes who has it. "Aiden?"

"Everyone has been fed. And I believe I have just promoted Marigold's most recent foundling to an official position. Here, eat. It's rice.. and... well. Some sort of paella, perhaps. With spices."

A sniff "well, as long as it's not sluagh food" And she eats and finds she likes it

"This sickness has a... virulence. I am considering sending Blossom to another hold to wait out the duration. She has not taken sick yet, but I do not wish to see her ill. I also am considering recommending that Gwen and the fledges - pardon, the new Wilders - spend a day or two in the city until the worst has passed."

Nadeen eats but looks muzzyheaded still "But, when Gwen finds out her mother is ill. she'll go quite crazed to get here"

"I admit that it would be a relief to have our Knight back... but still, I will make the offer of a hotel. I do not wish them to return, only to take ill."

Cough hack, "dammit" cranky, "Can I dictum myself to be well?"

An amused look. "If that worked, Lord Casimir would never have taken ill."

"Point" She admits "Yes I suppose they will be safter. But I was very curious.. " An admssion

He leans over towards her, then a cross look, and he kisses his hand, then presses it to her cheek. "Rest now. Or shall I bring you your books?"

"Yes, please" Regarding the books "But you shouldn't kiss me ike that you'lll get sick"

"I will take my chances." A smile, and he brings her school books, tablet, and the novel she was reading to set beside the bed before stepping out to make a call.

She DOES try to read, really, but likely she'll soon be snoring

With Nadeen asleep, he takes his leave quietly.
