"Do you think you had a vision?"

"Like, triggered by the cantrip?"

"When the cantrip failed, I tried to... I tried to force a vision to appear."

"I didn't imagine there could be such backlash."

"I was just trying to help." Quietly, shamed.

"You've got moxie, kid" She nods

"Is the Baron okay?"

"The Baron was mad."

"The baron was hurt... cut glass. And he was angry with you because he knows how dangerous Soothsay is and how much danger you were in" She knows her lord well enough to read the signs "If he needed more healing he's tended to it by now"

"You heard about Janice's baby, though?"

He shakes his head, then nods. "Sorry, it's all fuzzy. Someone stole it - sorry, her. A relative of Janice? The Baron ordered seawater to be brought for the scrying... at quite a cost, it was flicker-flashed by courier."

A touched look "He did that? Damn, i follow a good liege"

Art notices the juice, "Is that for me?"

"Yeah, it is."

He takes it eagerly, and the color start to return to his face as he drinks.

"Thistle, I'm sorry." He says, after a few swallows. "He worked hard to figure this out, and I bungled things."

Scowl.

"Apologize to him, not me."

"We gotta figure this out. Janice is still at the hospital, but maybe not for long?"

"And if it's a relative... like... maybe she has some info stashed away?"

"She's kinda private about her past."

"It didn't sound like she spoke to them, from what you had said."

"Greg wanted to get home with his wife fast so they maybe back already"

"Okay, so we shouldn't waste time?"

"Hold up, shouldn't we tell the Baron about this before we race off?"

"I..." She huffs.

"He wanted to see me today."

"But he said I was allowed to look for the baby."

"Do you think we should bother him?" Uncertain.

"I am certain he does not wish to see me any time soon."

"He wanted to talk to me. But, uh, maybe you should hang back some?"

"I think he told me you guys weren't to leave until his scrying"

"Course that's what blew up"

"What did he say, exactly?"

A wince at that last.

"HIS scrying was on point. Mine is what caused the problem."

"Redfin, and an emerald floating on the sea - Ireland, maybe? The Emerald Isle?"

"Jamaica wasn't it? Didn't your step mom mention an emerald.."

"Ireland? That's not Jamaica. I know that much."

"I meant the EMERALD but I.. argh no I guess maybe it is .. hold on" SHe's trying to think of o ther things

"Okay the Baron wanted to talk to Thistle today, but she was free to go to Art, or home to her family until then"

"So I see him soon, and then we go. Maybe I can try a wisp?"

"Then we should see what we can find out, and have something to report to the Baron. At least we - that is, you - can return to him without empty hands."

Art looks thoughtful. "A wisp could work, but you must be prepared to follow it. It try to find it's target, but if you cannot keep up or follow the path it leads, then it will go on without you. There's a danger in trying to find someone someplace unknown. And if she's in the dreaming, all bets are off..."

He squints, remembering his training. "I believe it only lasts as long as the glamour you put in, as well. I've never tried to follow one to any great lengths..."

"You two are under my escort, that's still an order that I'm to watch you, Art"

A pause "God I sound like Gwen. " A wince

"We're so close to saining, too." Plaintive. Of course, he didn't hear the Baron's tirade.
