"Only that one time." He admits, "And Mountain Emmit gave us such as scolding, I haven't really been tempted to try it again!"

"I asked the Baron if I might learn Naming." He tells Gladiola. "But, he says that beyond the most basic levels, most teachers worth their snuff will only take a dedicated pupil, rather than waste their time with casual learners."

"I'm not sure if that's my path yet, so I haven't pursued it further. Mostly, I liked the idea of the introductory levels, and being able to read any book..." A slightly sheepish grin.

"Oh you should practice it" she ponders "Actually, you should try it on me sometime. I'll volunteer for it, just don't make me do something too servile? If you can order me, your'e definitely a knight or better"

"But I don't want to issue orders. That doesn't seem a very good way to treat your friends."

"It's not, but it may save your friends one day when we run into a foe steel can't defeat but magic can"

"I have to tell you, you may not like Soveriegn, I don't either per se, been abused by it once..." SHe remembers "But naming is pretty rare"

He nods. "It makes sense, if you want to be good at something you need to be dedicated, not just browsing. But just that first level... well, maybe someday I'll find something worth trading for the lessons!"

"Oh." He lets her speak, relate the story. "I've heard of her. Probably not, that might be too close to admitting fault, even for one of the 'better' Ailil.

"If she does," Eyes narrow "She best hope we do not meet on equal terms when she not Lord Aiden's protection. Da'an will have proven to be far more forgiving than I"

Art pales just a bit, swallowing. Even knowing it's not directed at him, it's a bit eerie. "No, I do not envy her position if she tries something here again."

"She's proven a threat to my baroness. She turned two women I admire against each other ,though I hope that rift is healing. Art, whatever you become, whatever the rank, look at her as an example of what is WRONG in nobles and avoid it" manners, she remembers "Please"

He nods. "I think I'm going to take Fornax down to the library for a bit. I still feel a bit... sparkly, and want to wind down before I go home."

"Well, take these books with him" She gets the kids books and hands them over "And, thanks again, Art. Considering we started with me angry at you and you embarrassed, I .. well, thank you for hearing me out and for all the help"

"Thanks, Gwen. I don't really say it... and I know we don't always see things the same way... but, you're a good friend."

A smile "Thank you, Arthur. You're a good friend and becoming an amazing guy" And she waves as he heads off

He takes the books with him, too!

She cleans up the tea things and puts them away. She'll have to talk to blossom soon.
