She shifts her weight - is she nervous? The yellow spirals might give her away.

"Yeah, sure. Um. Do you have a minute?"

"Will it require me to stop drinking my coffee?" Hard to tell if she's serious or not.

"Nope!"

She nods towards a nearby chair. "Then, yes."

She crosses over and perches on the edge of the chair.

Sip. She takes her coffee black, with sugar.

Her left knee bounces.

"So. Um. Thane. Ma'am."

"Officer?"

Eyes flick to the knee, and she cracks a small smile. "I'm not interrogating you, and I'm technically off duty. Danica, is well enough."

"Yes'm." She swallows.

"If you're going to tell me something bad, let me finish the coffee first." A beat. "That was a joke. I don't bite."

"I... I was wondering.. I..." She scowls, trying to collect herself. "The other day, at the park, when... everything.. with everything happening? Or when... when... with Frankie, with the Spriggan... I...listen, I can throw a punch, but... but not like..."

She is quiet, listening, face without judgement - or any discernable emotion, really.

"I guess with being this, right?" She gestures at her face. "Being part of this, I can't..." Another frown. "Schoolyard stuff doesn't... isn't enough with things that want to kill you, is it? And I'm not... I got so scared when all those things were surrounding us, because I couldn't... I couldn't do anything..."

A grimace. "Sorry about the car."

She swallows, and puts a hand on her knee to still it.

"Being afraid is normal. Fiona? They're the crazy ones. Being afraid means you're smart - you know you're alive, and you want to keep it that way.

"I'd rather have two dead thallain than a pristine bumper."

"But what if I'm not lucky, or can't run?"

It's not quite absolution, but it's something.

"Mm." She listens, waiting to hear where Thistle is going, without taking her there.

"I was thinking, maybe... like, maybe you could show me some... some tricks? So I'd be less defenseless, if there's a bad situation. I know I'm not going to be some kind of warrior, but... but bad shit happens, doesn't it?"
