"He doesn't NEED rescue. We rescued him."

Art looks up, and frowns. "He is ours, by right of rescue. He belongs with us. It was foretold that with Thistle and I, Fornax would thrive."

THat gets a look from Nadeen "you had a vision?"

He has a firm expression on his face, in place of the usual easy smile, and his hands curl protectively around the Draconet, who peeps in protest at the pause in reading. "Wordwordword?"

His expression goes a little sheepish at the look, though. "Well, uh. Not quite. There was a soothsaying cast for him, at Earthrunes. By the, um, Librarian."

"Art had a vision about finding Fornax to start with."

He nods! "A vision about us finding him." He adds, steering the conversation back his way, or attempting to.

"We chose his name from the Star Charts I saw. I can show you, if you give me just a moment... " Starting to riffle through a shelf.

"The Librarian... of Earth Runes?" Nadeen takes a deep breath "She is a slaugh is she not?"

"She has a bookwyrm... a proper, grown one."

"Fornax learned his first word."

"Yes.. " Nadeen's beauitful expression looks like one who has found a worm too, in an apple she just took a bite of "You must be careful about the agendas of others. The whispering kith have a manipulative side. They are not all wicked or evil " how it pains her to say it "My house is perhaps too intolerant of them, but.. do take whatever they say with a grain of proverbail salt. They have their own goals and they don't always coincide with the goals of others."

She makes a mental note to talk to Dame Gladiola about how comfortable the knight seems to have become around sluagh and how that may not be a good habit to install in fledges

Art nods. "We'll be careful."

"But Art, didn't you say you saw part of the soothsay, too?"

"So it's not like we have just her word."

"I tried to watch, but it was, like... trying to see through a sheet, kinda. I saw a little, but I couldn't follow it all. It was like watching Marigold in the kitchen, or Dee taking the horses through their paces, or Bluebell dancing..."

"Does the Librarain know you had a vision, Art?" Nadeen smiles at him, a bit too wide

"You know you're watching someone skilled, even if you can't follow all of it..." He blinks, and considers. "I don't remember if it came up?" Honest.

Nadeen rubs at her forehead, then says "A vision.. you do have a gift, Arthur. Don't share it too lightly with those not of Silverwolf, please. "

"I mean, she's just the Librarian. Earth Runes has a Seer and a Namer."

"That's right. Their Seer, Almondine? He gave me a book on the stars."

From what I hear, half of Earth Runes has the Clap too, but I wouldn't crow about it if I were them Unfair, but she doesn't have to be fair, she's a co tyrant.

Still she nods "Different holds have different strengths and different challenges. Librarain or not, Slaugh deal in secrets. THey will try to take yours and the secrets of the hold here. As for the Seer, it sound kind of him, but don't acrue too many debts from anyone if you can help it. " SHe ponders "Arthur, if Fornax was in your vision, it does seem to confirm he's one of us or meant to be with you and Thistle. I just hope the bookwyrm community realizes that when you two visit them"

He looks over Fornax, then looks to Nadeen. "Do you think that having him reflects poorly on Silverwolf?" Finally asking the question he had been avoiding asking the Baron.

Thistle grimaces.

"If Fornax were a horse or a dog, I would be quite sure he'd be gelded or fixed at the least to prevent breeding. It might even be put down as a kindness though I would like to think not. The fact a dragon of any sort is here is a point of pride, the fact the creature is deformed might seen as a point of shame ... but to quote a movie, that's only from a certain point of view. From another point of view, Fornax is a survivor of an Autumn Person. No less than our own brave Thistle. He has been hurt, brought down, injured, yet he has some how come through. He has faced banality and stubbornly made it. I .. find much to admire in how he has taken on the challenges he faces and still cries out Word like a tiny battle cry. Other bookwyrms may have more knowledge, or vast hoards of book, but Fornax survived that which would have slain most of them. The world is a never ending series of challenges, and one should take pride in meeting them. In that regard ? " A glance to the chimera "Fornax is a prince among his kind. "

The grimace settles into a guilty frown, and she picks at her voile... finding little specks of dried clay.

"Fornax's condition is NOT your fault, Thistle. IF that's what you're thinking. I made a comparison because I admire your fortitude as well."

Thistle doesn't say anything. Just an indifferent shrug and avoidant eyes.

Nadeen's eyes follow the girls, firm and full of assurance. At the shrug she adds "Thistle. You should believe in yourself. We do. Dame Gladiola maybe a buzzkill to you, but she also praises you and Arthur as, and I quote 'a hell of a team'. She thinks you are the smartest girl she knows and she also seems to envy your color and style. Nor is she alone. Marigold may be a soft touch, but there is always merit behind her praise. And my husband knows quality as do I. Now where is the girl who was openly annoyed that a younger wilder outranked her? "

"I may have damaged the egg. It was crumbling. And I..." She frowns. "Nockers..."

"I'm actually sure the nocker capacity for fixing things that are unfixable is one reason Fornax is alive" She says "Your kith does what even we other dreams think is impossible every day." She assures "Don't tell your kith brothers and sisters I said that. They'll get swelled heads" a slight smile

Fornax tilts his head from side to side, listening.

Art also listens. "If you did say he didn't belong here, that would be a shame. I'd hate to leave Silverwolf, even if a Dougal hold might be interesting." A smile, possibly kidding.

"A prince, you hear that, 'Nax?"

"Thistle, you saved him. From what I saw in the vision? If we hadn't gotten to him - if you hadn't gotten to him then, he would have died- or worse, never been."

A brow lift at the 'possibly kidding'. But she does agree with Arthur's comment "Yes, Arthur is right in that you two saved him. I like the challenge of helping Fornax. You two have your own reasons." She says "You really should have an escort, not a nanny mind you, to the Library. Is there someone you'd prefer?"

"Or at least tolerate?" She adds

"I dunno."

Art shrugs, he doesn't seem to mind as much. "What about Willy? She drives. Do you prefer her guidance over Wudlig? I don't know either of them very well."

"....Willy doesn't like me much..." Muttered.

"Willy doesn't like anyone much I fear" Nadeen says

Nadeen sees the delay "Oh very well. Seems I'll have to do it myself"

"Maybe we should just wait until we're Sained to go? I mean... it's less than 2 months away now." Art suggests.

"I guess."

"No, we want to help Fornax. You two want more independence. And the library isn't a bad place to do it. I'll escort you myself. Not as a baby sitter or any such thing, but just a young woman hitting the big city for a day with some friends. You talk to the bookwyrms, I'll likely be in another part of the library. Later we gather and head out to some shopping perhaps. " A pause "I wonder if I can get some broadway tickets?"

"That could work..."

"Of course it could." SHe says "Whether my lord wishes to come along may affect the size of the group and likely we weill have at least one Thane, but they would be more focused on defending me" She sighs "As if I can't wield a sword. I'll try to find a good day for this in the next week or so. And think about what Broadway play you two might like that's out at that time. THere are perks to being part of Silverwolf. You should enjoy one or two"

She rises "That's settled. Carry on here. I'll give you updates to when the journey will be. "

And with hair fluttering like a banner, she takes her leave

Art exhales. Even being a sidhe doesn't always protect you from their effect. "I'm glad she's on our side..."

"OH yeah."

"No offense, but ya'll can be overwhelming."
