Gladiola reports to the baron, "The DeBuke kennels, such as they are, are a bit disorganized, but the animals do not suffer for it. They do keep records of the breeding, thankfully, adding legitimacy to their program and they have proven stock of fae Hound Great Pyraness that we can rely on for injections of the Fae Mountain dog experiment if need be. Some of which are distant enough from Oak to not risk inbreeding flaws. Their fae hounds are working dogs, trained in tasks and guardianship . Gentle Giants, I suppose is the cliche as fitting term but the Fae hound part makes them far more intelligent. They know herding commands by voice AND Hand gestures, the latter surprised me pleasantly ... and makes sense. A Fae hound could probably read some very simple sign language... someone could d iscretely signal their dog to guard an exit or even attack if need be. Most other dogs that are not fae blooded but still well trained and well loved. Including a Cane Corso who is really just a lovely bitch named Xena. Belongs to the Mountain. " then she smiles triumphantly "But, there are two more fae hounds.. Pepper and Popper. Both Fae blooded Brittany dogs. I don't know if we have an interest in such one day, but they are there, albeit it not for sale. That is good news, but the really good news? The source of them is Non DeBuke, a Boggan kinian family that lives nearby called the Wrangles. The Wrangles are not as well off as the DeBuke family but further nosing about indicated they've been breeding the Brittanys for generations."

"Even if we don't breed Brittany's ourself, this may allow Sivlerwolf to become a contact to open them to the fae hound breeding community. Which can only bring us good will" She continues

The Baron has been listening intently as he looks over notes. "Very good, Gladiola. The information about this Wrangles breeder is invaluable. They have been below the radar in the past, but I will send a message to make inroads and inquire further." He looks very pleased.

"The fledges comported themselves appropriately?"

"As a matter of fact, I should mention two things about Art. He riled them a bit, but not intentionally. My liege, he cast Sovereign on some chimera driving them off. When this was explained to the Mountain... kind of their Seer? He nodded and explained to Art their concern but also let it be. Later Art more than redeemed himself by offering to help in the kitchen. It would appear Mom's instilling the idea that there is no shame in such work stuck with him but Art impressed the Chieftain with such polite thoughtfulness. Thistle was well behaved by Thistle standards."

She knows there's a lot in those few sentences, chief among them Art actually casting

"oh, and they gave us a huge load of river clay for Thistle to tinker with. SHe can tell you more about it I'm sure"

Given the concentration of Never-sparkles hanging out by Thistle's studio, she's probably tinkering right now...

A raised brow. "Think you that he was testing their hospitality by an 'inadvertent' Sovereign?"

"No. I don't. The calicrows were heavy about Thistle, and he wanted to shoo them off. " She says "Mountain Emmit agreed no funny stuff was tried, and observed that Thistle seems to draw chimera.. he said he's noticed the condition before at more dangerous levels and that if she had trouble let him know and he'd veil her just from Chimera. Art was polite at every stage actually. A Daireann would be happy to host such a lad"

Depending on Thistle's mood at the time she works, and if she puts any glamoour into it, she might find that clay shifting color as she works

Aiden taps his fingers thoughtfully. "Even so, there are those who are bound to believe it of us. After all, why would an Ailil hold not test the boundaries of the Farm?" A thin smile, amused. "His protective instinct seems strong. Has he picked this up from your example? Some young Sidhe would have taken a wait and see approach, or attacked the marauding chimera outright. His use of Sovereign at least indicates that there is no Unicorn in his blood." The Ailil doesn't seem displeased by this.

Gwen blushes very lightly "I don't presume to think it's my example but the idea it might have helped pleases me. Thistle is his best friend, and he hers. That is certainly a factor. And yes, he's delighted to 'narrow it down' as far as his House goes. I don't know what he hopes to be so much as he hopes to know. " A nod "The subject of teaching them arts at the farm was noted. Thistle was interested in Autumn, on acount it would help her find faults in her work I believe which Chieftain Clem confessed was a use she had not considered. Art is mostly interested in Soothsay, and the Chief said that was a good one to know but had to be used wisely and responsibly."

His mouth tightens a touch, and he looks away silently as his mind turns inward.

A look of concern at that, then she says "Something troubles you, my liege?"

He looks back at her, almost surprised for a moment that she is still there. He considers before responding. "I worry of the perils of soothsay. Art is young, and... excitable. He yearns to explore and learn. He has not yet understood that some mysteries are better not to delve into. Perhaps I should school him in the art myself - though..." He looks at his hands, then sighs. "I would not lead him down the same path I trod."

"Sometimes the best gift an elder can give is to help keep us from making thier mistakes so we can make our own," She suggests "I think he will seek it out, Baron. If not from Silverwolf, than yes, from others."

A frown. "I would not have it said that Silverwolf lacks the ability to teach our own fledges."

Bright pink smoke from the studio. It smells like bubblegum.

A series of sneezes from Muppet, seldom far from Thistle's side, though the glennie has retreated a bit from the cloud.

"And you are right in that it does not lack that ability, my lord. I have only blossomed under your care and the care of those sworn to you" A jaw set "If any would slight silverwolf, they would find me demanding satisfaction, unless of course, you and the baroness demanded it first. I think you would be a fine teacher of soothsay, you taught me all i know of hounds and more, but you are also busy with matters of rule so none with sense would slight you if you had another handle it. "

He considers this, accepting her praise with a small tilt of the head - a touch of that Ailil arrogance in that he clearly knows that such is true, but pleasure in hearing it stated by his Knight.

"I will have him taught by another hold, then. If not the Farmhold, perhaps Earthrunes, and monitor his process personally. It may be that an outside influence may be of some interest, if they utilize methodology unfamiliar to me."

"And if their methodology works sufficiently, we could adopt some of it?"

"Huh" A smile, thin but there "Oh, and if we allow outside influence, we might also have a chance to infleunce outside" impressed

A slight approving nod. Then he sniffs the air. "Something smells sweet - is something cooking? But - was not today Marigold's day off? I believe your mother is visiting friends in town?

She sniffs as well "Well, the DeBukes did send a great deal of food back with us. Mostly for Art's and Thistle's mortal family. I wonder if that's it?"

"Can't be the pottery? Can it?"

She hears the chiming, but.. she looks to the baron "Should I check on that my lord?"

He nods, "Yes, that seems wise."

A bow, and off she races to see what all the chiming is about
