"Well, if you see Katrinna before I do.. tell her my plan and that I am hoping for her help? I have the idea but I'm not that artistic"

He nods eagerly. "Just watch that you don't call her Katrina. Chuck gets away with it because he knew her since she was practically in diapers, but she stopped going by that in middle school." A smile. "I remember. I've been getting better at sorting through the memories I have, that is."

"How would you have Chuck's memories about her?" Confused

He grins. "Not Chuck's. Artie's. We went to the same primary education - no. The same... grade school? Yes, Elementary, together."

"Oh, hey, good memory work" Gwen smiles "Props I'll try to remember."

"I think..." He looks a bit sheepish. "I was reluctant to accept my connection to this host, at first. I think that marred my ability to best link to the memories. I have been getting better at it."

His voice quiet to not be overheard, of course.

"I know you may not agre, but I think Arty's brain honed your intellect in some ways. not that i'm saying you were dim before , but just, it seems to grease the mental wheels?"

"I believe that Art was smart... but reluctant. He loathed his position in life, and let that loathing color his outlook, thinking that he could not be more than what others saw him as. I know he must be happier out where he can grow and explore."

Sincere.

"I have had to take his lesson into account to not fall into the same pitfall as he did."

"you know? " She says low "I don't know what your title will be, but I think you'll make a hell of a lord with an attitude like that"

His cheeks flush red, right to the tips of his ears!

She pretends not to notice "So does she prefer Kat or trinia?"

"Trina.... or Thistle, of course. Do I need to choose a flower?" He asks, a little dubiously.

With a straight face , "yes. After you're sained. If you're an Eiluned it's Abutilon. If you're a Beaumayn, it's Periwinkle, and if you're gwyd, the baron says your name shall be ragweed"

"But!" He starts to argue, then pauses. "I do believe you are teasing me."

"You believe correctly" she smiles "I chose to go by a flower name. I didn't have to. you don't have to either, but... therre is .. an honor in it, maybee even power."

"It does not seem that the males of the Freehold have taken the habit. There is Lord Aiden himself, and Dolph, and Julius and Rochallor... unless those are also flowers?" Curious. "I should look at some botanical texts."

"You have a point." she smiles "We women honor the first lady of the hold, and the current onne approves"

"Maybe I'll pick something new, but for now... Art suits." He decides.

"It does" She munches her own food, and offers somethingg from it "You want this croisant? mom brown bagged me"

"I WOULD. If you do not mind? There is much more of you to keep fed than of me."

"Fair. Help yourself" she says "I must be the only girl in school who has five star food"

Art takes a bite, and sighs appreciatively. "This tastes so much better than the ones from the store."

"It does, doesn't it?" She confesses "you should try her frybread. she learned how to make it just for me" proud

"Fried bread? Certainly, it sounds delicious."

"Fry bread and.. well, when she makes it it sure is"

Their conversation is interrupted by the homeroom warning bell!

"Oh, see you around.." As she gathers her things

"At lunch?"

"Chuck and Me, but yes"

"Oh. When did you want to talk about your art project, then? Lunch is probably your best bet to catch the others. Maybe we can spread them out and cover more ground?"

"Oh.. mm I'll see. Chuck maybe distracted by a football thing. I'll.. think of somethinn."

"Do let me know if there is anyone I can help talk to."

"Well..." She names the folks she has talked to but not the last girl who got greyed "But I tthink I should try those "

"The sophomore with the red hair, I believe he may be in one of my classes." Art offers, speaking of the one who was a "Waste of time".

"I will ask Gareth if he knows the other Seniors, if I can find a way to approach him when none of his friends are around." Small frown. "He does not wish there to be a connection."

"Oh for... you know, Gareth might actually get laid if girls didn't think they had to compete with that stick up his ass for a relationship rival" She covers e mouth "Sorry, that was rude of me."

"I cannot completely blame him. Art.. Arty? He had decided that to be loathed was his due, and he did not need to go out of his way to trouble to change things. Gareth is popular. I cannot entirely fault that he wishes to retain what he has. Perhaps someday we may reconcile."

"But yes, he has not been able to court any other students for longer than a fortnight at best." A little smile at that.

A smile "Maybe one day. Don't worry, some folks are slow to mature. He IS helping so... props there if only a little"

He nods and waves, it’s now a hustle to reach home room before the bell!

Chuck, and Trina too, are dragged hence by the sound of the bell.

And so, school drags on, until Lunch!
