"Aaaaaaaaaargh!" Briar bellows as she tackles the strange fellow lurking around the grounds. Glass bells joyously, A WOOO WOOO WOO WOOO!

"I GOT HIM!" She crows to Rochallor, Blossom, or whoever is closest by.

"YAY... who is him?" Roch asked

She gives the faced Nocker a glare, teeth bared just inches from his knobbly face. "Stranger. Probably up to no good!"

There is something familiar about him. Maybe she saw him once before? Briar doesn't pay that much attention...

He's ugly, even by nocker standards, longish nose, bad complexion, slightly asymetrical jawline, but the mask he wears is a work of art

Glass wags her tail.

SHE recognizes scents.

"Are you furking high?" says the downed Nocker, "I'm Wudlig, bannerhouse Combecatte!"

"That's just what an intruder WOULD say" Roch nods sagely

"Nah, this is as tall as I get. But YOU'RR the one on the ground, so I'm much higher up than YOU, and don't forget it!"

Briar is trying to wiggle her fingers under the mask to pry it off. "Do you got a cool scar under there? Bad guys get the best scars. I'm not allowed to keep any on my face until I'm a wilder."

The redcap is seated on his chest.

"Or is this part of your face, and when we pull it off, SHLLLRRRRRP you're just gore under there?" She tugs more insistently now, wanting to see this.

"The BARON invited me" Wudlig reaches for something as she goes for the mask, indeed, he seems to panic as she goes for it, and pulls out a can.. is that soda or...

and it wooshes, sprizzing at her face. Mace Soda- When no means hell no says the label

"Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!" She goes tumbling off of him, wiping franticly at her face.

"SPICY!!"

Glass, loyal and true, has her limits and a very keen nose... and she beats a hasty retreat!

"Never touch the mask..." The Dougal rises furious

Only to be tackled at the legs by a pooka

"What the furk? HELP!" Wudlig calls out

Glass adds her voice in from a safe distance, woooo wooooo!

Dame DeLorean hears this as she's heading along her way to the stables.

Briar is trying to clear her eyes by rubbing dirt in her face... um. It kinda helps.... kinda...

"HEY now" DeLorean moves on, "What's this about?"

Rochalor says "Stranger danger, he attacked Briar who never did nothing to nobody!"

"I did not, I'm furking Journeyman Wudlig ap Dougal Ni Bannerhouse Combecatte! The baron called for me!"

D'Lorean's hand goes to her hilt then, stops "Briar? What's going on?"

"They said to be on the lookout! I caught 'em SKULKIN around!" They are actually on a main pathway...

"Wearing a mask so we wouldn't idennify 'em! That's suspicious!" Snot and eyes watering running down her face, not making HER any prettier, but she can see blearily now.

"Look, your cavity headed attack dog, and I don't mean the one with the tail, saw me on the main path, wearing banner house tabard and drek!Tried to rip my mask off that I SEE with... and I came in a pumpkin chariot/carriage!"

"What did you do to Briar's Eyes?" Dee says as she rushes to Briar, surprising herself. Sure the little girl's a monster, but she's a favorite of some here. Not her, but still "And Roch, let go of the man"

"Mace Soda... for when No means HELL no" Wudlig says "Still needs work. The actual mace didn't pop out for a finishing blow like it's supposed to"

"It's..." She smacks her lips. "It's not bad..." She rubs at her eyes again, and squints over at Wudlig. "Oh. You shoulda SAID something."

Rochallor lets go, looks over at Briar, a worried look that eases when she speaks that it's not that bad. Brair wouldn't lie... all the Chirstmas spirits besides Santa really ARE trying to beat him up, or throw him in the sack, or carry him to the coal mines... it's a dangerous holiday.

"I furking DID say something... are you hearing impaired because you're not too young to see Nocker Signlanguage.." He dusts himself off, visibly trying to breathe deep. Small or not, redcaps can be terrifying

"You coulda been lying and after the pups again." She says, kicking at the dirt a bit. There's a hint of apologetic in the tone, though she scowls at him. It's a very light scowl, to those who know her.

"Hey, hold still" Dee says. Fortunately she rides with a flask of water, and this is still cool. She washes the rest of the mace out. Flowing water works better than rubbing.

"Yeah, Pupnapper!" Rochalor points

"What the furk? Pup napper? " The Nocker's mask blinks? How does it do that? must be magic

"Yeah, some ugly sombitch tried to get the fresh mountain pups."

Briar sputters a bit, but it does help.

"Long story, and this isn't him, this is Wudlig. He helped Dame Gladiola set up the den," Dee says "I think that's why the dogs didn't growl at him. Sorry, Journeyman... this was a misunderstanding."

Suddenly Wudlig seems to be waving that off, "Damn it. They found the den? I thought I concealed that thing. It's meant to shift approachables, see the guidance vectors are shielding from visual acuity"

"You did that doghouse? Y'know, one of those bullshit little teddy dogs found the tunnel and kept some of my dogs safe."

"Yeah.. bullshit teddy dogs?" He says not getting that last part

"Yeah, the ones that sit up. Ain't got a nose on MY Glass, but I guess they're quickbrained. When not sleeping."

She gives Roch a nod that seems to say 'good work'.

Roch nods back. Then backs away slowly from the new guy, pointing to both his eyes, then at Wudllig

"Huh, must smart to use the tunnels as a haven.." Wudlig admits

Briar straightens up. "Well, keep yer nose clean." Backing away. "Gotta get back on patrol, ya know."

"No problem, I'll get my rabies shot in case we meet again..." Wudlig says

"I won't bite you NOW that I know you're workin' for the Boss." She snorts. "Unless it was an inside job..." Eyes narrowing again...

"Why would I rob from my own construction then come back here again?" Wudlig who was calming starts to raise his voice

"They always return to the scene of the crime! It's a saying, ain't it?!"

"Yeah, by bad writers who realize the smart villain their little drama would have left for Mexico right after the crime......" The Nocker starts to grouse
