Bustle, confusion, chaos... but all happy chaos. Aiden has been joined by Julius - or rather perhaps, cornered, as they talk wine and stay out of the way. Marigold is in fine fettle - the spread is amazing. Not one bird, but three - A wild turkey hunted by the Baron himself along with two game fowl that Nadeen took down with the help of a few of the raptors from the mews - who also are doing splendidly for a bit of hunting.
Briar is chortling "Coot coot coot...." Aiden rolls his eyes and murmurs to Julius, "Perhaps I should not have told her the name of these game fowl. She seems to believe it's somewhat naughty."
Silly name or not, apparently Coot are excellent eating and Marigold has roasted them up. Some of the table is less traditional, though... or perhaps, more?
Flo has joined the steward in bringing out dishes. Yes, squash is always on a thanksgiving table, but not normally cooked with corn and beans?
The stuffing is not bread, but is a wild rice mixture! Fragrant and savory, and roasted inside a gourd!
There's a whole roasted fish the length of a child's arm, made not with the French herbs Marigold loves, but with persimmon and sunflower seeds, and native herbs to garnish.
BOTH white rolls and richly colored cornbread fry cakes!
Bluebell has a bit of a stubborn/sly look, and is sneaking a dish of her own onto the table - yep, it's green bean casserole, complete with mushroom soup and fried onion topping!
