"Julius? Put gloves on and be prepared to duck" Gwen advises "But I think I found the ledgers"

"Gloves? Oh, thank goodness. Here...." He quickly stacks and clears paperwork to make room for the new folders.

"Calanthe has a few traps in her occult shop. Annd I think Baroness Nadeen may have my ass because I passed her ward somehow"

"Jesus, you went in there?" Startled. "I'm sorry - I should have said something - are you okay?" Clearly still frazzled, he may have pulled a late night based on the tired bags under his eyes.

The troll frowns, "Julius, when did you last sleep?"

"I had some of your coffee." He apologizes. "But now that we have the rest of the paperwork, this should all be a snap."

"Welcome to the cult" She half way jokes, "But seriously, wear ggloves and ken... or maybe better yet take a nap first? "

"One of the main accounts that paid for the utilities was Calanthe's - or rather, Dr. Green's corporate checking. It's got a fraud alert on it due to unusual activity - I suppose lack thereof is a trigger too, so I need to get these moved over. Gotta keep the lights on, kiddo. I'll be fine." A thumbs up.

He starts to look over the paperwork - taking Gwen's advise, he skims visually, and uses a pen to slide papers aside. "Okay... this is a lot of the the hold documentation I was hoping for, but still some things missing." A tired sigh. "I'll have to go to her office. I should be able to fuddle a key out of the maintenance crew, or convince a locksmith..." Rubbing the base of his horns as a headache comes on.

"A key ring like this maybe?" She offers the key ring she found "Really temptted to take a joy ride"

"Holy mother of goats!" She finds herself swept up - well, wrapped up at least in an impromptu hug! "You're my hero!"

"ACK" Startled "uhm.. you'e welcome.. "She fights the urge to pat his head like an overly friendly cockapoo

"Dame Gladiola," A crisp voice of the Baroness from the hallway "When I put up a ward, I do it for good reason"

And Gwen WINCES

"It could be worse," Julius whispers as he steps back - "It could be Bluebell."

"Baroness Nadeen. Gwen - ah, Dame Gladiola has done me a monumental favor. I'm the one who asked her for seek these files."

Gwen starrts to mutter how would Bluebell be WORSE? Then she thinks of a pooka scorned with a pranking target.. okay. Good point there. She turns and bows "I was told, and believe, that they were crucial"

Nadeen arches a brow at this unity between two who aren't always the best of friends, but are on the mend Well, let's not crush this then "Julius ,I'm sure you had good reason for that, and I trust our newest knight to do things thannks to dedication, but the former Chancelior's magics were and remain DANGEROUS. I'll ask you to please check with me or the Baron should you need to see that room again, the both of you"

He bows to the Baroness. "Of course. Thank you, Baroness. Your outlook into our wellfare is noticed and appreciated by all."

the knight bows again "Understood, Baroness"

Stifling a yawn, he covers his mouth lest it appear to be an insult to Nadeen.

Nadeen mmms, then "When's the last time you slept, Julius?"

"Ah... erm." He gestures towards the heaped paperwork, piled by several empty coffee-stained cups. "A stewards's work is never done."

"And he's been doing the work of a Chancelior on top of it" Gwen observes "With only coffee for boosts"

At the word Channclior, the Baroness mmphs, then eyes Julius "Julius, you should have asked Marigold for help. I know you normally do the paper work, but she doesn't want to be coddled anyway and that won't stress her leg. Do you have time to take a nap now while your bride to be fusses over you, or would you rather go further today for a few more hours and THEN get your sleep while your bride to be fusses?"

It's KIND of like a choice, but really not that open

A laugh at that. "My Lady, not to complain, but if you honestly believe that Bluebell lets me sleep..." His own lack of shuteye making him a bit open. "No, give me just a bit longer to see what Gwen brought, and then I promise to tuck in for some R&R&R."

"Rest, Relaxation, and Rabbit?" Baroness Dancingsnow arches a brow, "Fine. But take someone with you to assit, one of the knights or thanes. I know you know what you're doing, but if you fatigue faster than you expect I want you to have someone to point it out to you and, if they're kind, get you another cup of coffee... " A glance to Gwen "Which I expect we maybe stocking up even more."

"One of the thanes to assist with my relaxation?" A chuckle. "I pity the thane vs. my Cottontailed love."

Gwen blushes

"If you think you're amusing with that sort of twist of my words, you're already more tired than you realize" The Baronness observes "Pick someone as I directed and then as you were" She looks at Gwen "Dame Gladiola, your suggestion is noted. "

Which just makes Gwenn blush a bit more

And Nadeen turnsn and leaves

"Perhaps a short nap first." He allows.

"How about I wake you in an hour?" Gwen offers

"Would you?" He asks gratefully. And soon, he's stumbling off for a shower (which he may have needed almost as much) and collapsing into bed.

She makes a note.. and, in an hour, will knock on his door. Thirty seconds after the knock, she'll have Ivan howl or bark through the door as loud as he can

However, when she returns, there is an unexpected guard on the door.

"You shall not bleed him dry!" Bluebell protests in a whisper, arms outstretched to block the doorway! Her nose wiggles cutely, and she stamps a slippered foot!

"Bluebell, I promised I'd wake him an hour" She finnds herself oddly intimidated

Which she realizes is insane, because Bluebell is this dinky thing

Stamp STAMP! Wiggle whisker POWER!

"I don't suppose pulling knightly rank would work?" Hopeful, but doubting

Her expression says try me! Hands on her slender waist.

"Didn't think so," She admits .. feeling twitchy .She did tell him she would, then tries a new tact, "He'll be angry with me if I don't do whatt I said"

"We wouldn't want him upset, right?"

Her eyes get big and liquidy, melty chocolate brown filled with tears. "You would work him to the bone and leave not a scrap of marrow for me."

A blush but she remembers "From what I hear, he's not getting much sleep at night in bed either.. and I did't want to hear but I did, so I know there are times he COULD be sleeping and you're the one preventing it"

A gasp! Her ears DROOP. "J'accuse!"
