Lavender Delorean observes as Linnea, Troll Thane, grooms her mount. Is the Thane actually... humming, to herself? She seems starry eyed, and may not realize that she's been brushing the same spot on Adelie's rump for several minutes now.

The friesian mare certainly isn't going to tell her, tail switching in pleasure at the scratches on an itchy spot.

Lavender grins "Hey, you've got it bad don't you?"

A lesser, less solid and sturdy kith may have jumped or startled at the surprise... Linnea just blinks. "Lavender. I did not hear you..." Then she realizes that is a bad trait for a guardian. "That is. Ah. I was focused. On Adelie."

The friendly Friesian nickers a greeting.

"Hey, Adelie" She smiles "You sure you wen't focused on a ..certain guy, Linnea?"

Linnea has turned back to the horse for a final curry, but the tips of her horns above blond hair blush a bit purplish. "There is much on my mind, and if Chieftain Hewitt may take up a portion of that, then... he is worthy of it, I feel."

"Atta girl" Approving "I'm actually a bit jealous, not of Hewitt particularly , though the accent and eyepatch ARE sexy, but that you have someone specific to daydream about. THough there is this.. ah goth girl I'm seeing." A fond thought of a certain were raven "Maybe I should seek her out again"

"The Prodigal." She nods slowly. "Play careful with that one. They are dangerous, even the friendly ones. Especially the friendly ones."

Linnea busies herself cleaning up the grooming tools, then admits, "Gwen's saining is soon. I should be excited for her. I am. Yet, I fear she may leave us."

"Ffft... she's a troll, like you. I'm not saying I understand your kith, but I am saying I've seen enough of them to know they might quest, but they're pretty set in some preferences. This will be her home for a while yet. SHe's got her boyfriend, she's got her new family here, and that IS how she sees it. Have you noticed how she's the super tolerent big sister with Briar until that last nerve is reached?"

"And yet. She may Chrysalize with an oath that requires her seek her liege, or her duty. Or with a house or personal affiliation that is not suited to House Ailil." A small worried crinkle of her brow. "She acts Seelie, for all intents and purposes. Honorable, and quite fond of the legends of the Shacklebreaker - arguable the most prominent Troll of that generation. If she were to Know herself under the aegis of Green and Gold?"

A sigh. "Perhaps I just worry."

"I would laugh my ASS off if she were a Gwydion" Lavender says honestly "I do not get the whole 'no I'm the high house' 'no I'm the high house' stuff Gwydion and Ailil got going, but the smart thing to do would be to let her stay on anyway and put an end to that whole court war. We commoners did ages ago"

Linnea snorts a bit, but gives a wry smile. "It would liven things up, perhaps. The Ailil afraid that the wilder is a plant to take over the Barony... the Gwydions afraid that the Barony planning to subvert the wilder."

"Damn, if she becomes aa knight I won't be everyone's favorite knight anymore" A smirk

"How goes your Joust Club?"

"Oh pretty cool, Dagmar and I don't get near enough time, but last time she SMASHED me itno the railing, it was fantastic. Only fair, I bopped her helmet off before that. Oh she's gonna be fun to joust against in Pennons.. and this time I've got the best horse in the world to win on" No biases here

"Shall you also try jousting against the Grimhand, or do you value your life?" An amused smile.

"Are you kidding? Chief Brekke is kind of like a living hurricane, you can't really get out of her way if she is heading at you, but there's a source of pride in surviving it. So yeah, if I'm good enough to get to that round? You bet"

"I shall let Julius know to take down your will when you sign up on the lists."

"Already written out, I'm passionate, not short sighted. If your'e going to bet against me, please don't let me know" a grin "Hurt my feelings"

"I shall bet on you to last 2 rounds. I'm not a rich woman, so make it worth it." A chuckle, much cheered now.

"See now that I can live with" A pause "In theory"

"It is Gwen's special day." Linnea hems a bit. "Would it be... inappropriate to hope that the neighboring Baron/Chieftain may be invited as a courtesy?"

"of course not" She smiles "Remember, our holds' alliances were partly formed because of Gwen and the revelations that followed. WHy, it would be down right neglectful not to extend an invite"

She chuckles. "Well, if you put it that way, it makes sense."

"You're welcome" she winks

Linnea offers an apple to Adelie, and then gives one to Snowthorn as well. "So your boy here is working out well? He's been prancing around like he owns the barony, since being studded." Patting the stallion on his nose.

Snowthorn nickers happily and yes, prances a bit in place

Adelie rolls her eyes and snorts something in Horse.

"Yeah, he's a sexy beast" A laugh from the satyr "Honestly he's the most... how to say this, professional athlete mentality I've seen a horse? All business on the joust, trains hard, but he also enjoys his R&R when he's got the time. I admit I can't wait to see how his offspring turn out"

"It seems that the Baron has been taking a more active hand in his lines this past year. It is good. Good for him, good for the Hold."

"When it comes to horses, he's the most intelligent man I know" Lavender says with a nod "He has an eye not just for fine horse flesh, but to visualize how those qualities will look in the offsrping of any two horses"

"I'm just glad Adelie isn't on his current list. Not that she isn't a fine mount, and fine companion, but I'd hate to teach a new horse all my old tricks."

A series of snorts and whinnies of protest pipe up around them "There I go. Yes, yes. You're ALL fine creatures, mares and stallions all."

A SNORT. "Yes, you too, Bandersnatch." The proud gelding bobs his head.

"I think we may need more apples."

"I'll get em" she trots off at a good pace on her own hooves

She returns with apples "THank goodness there's no Snow here" Which is an odd thing to say in summer

"I think the earliest I've seen snowfall has been a freak storm in September, but that was years ago." Handing out apples to all of the horses, proud stallions and proper mares frisking like foals at the treats.

"Oh no, Snow, she's this monkey chimera at Rivervale. The little thief loves fruit, she's obsessed with it she's shameless about snitching them but she's so adorable it's hard to be harsh to her"

A chuckle. "I'm afraid any such whimsical creatures around here may be too in fear of a certain childling to venture that close. Even if we DO keep Briar well-fed."

"I hear you. Oooh she glared at me once, it was all I could do not to gulp"

"That's our terror." Fondly.

"I guess I don't see the appeal as much, but I don't think she's a bad kid" A nod "Now Blossom, she's happy to work with you"

"She is a pretty young thing. I have to remember that she's just a young childling. Her centaur height gives her extra stature, I almost find myself expecting more from her, as I would an older childling, or a trollish one."

"I worry that I may slip and speak to her as I might one of our steeds." Linnea admits quietly. "Not that she is dull witted, but because ours are so bright. I know well she's no more a horse than you a goat, but - it is very new to us all."

She considers "Huh, I think the fact you're worried about it is a good precaution to help prevent it. I confess, as a horse woman, part of me finds her horse like traits fascinating. I'm also a bit envious. It must be wonderful to be so rare as to be almost unique"

"You may be a horse woman, but Blossom is the true horsewoman." A smile. "Lord Aiden and Dame Calanthe both see promise in her, so she cannot but bring pride to our Hold. Rochallor is very attached to her as well. He seems a good lad, if a bit hard to comprehend at times."

"Yeah I thought I had it figured out with that Joe stuff, but like all pooka, once you figure them oout or think you do, they switch channels just enough to make you work again. It's in their dream's nature I guess. BLuebell still throws me even after all this time"

A rueful shake of her head. "I wonder if she will dance again next Pennons.. She did marvelous last time, up until her stage fright. Perhaps Lady Nadeen might do a... oh, what's the dance version of a duet?"

"Maybe it's just a 'duet'." She answers herself.

"Get a whole row and it's a chorus line" Wryly

"And yes she was wonderful. Lady Nadeen goes to Bluebell's dance area to relax you know? I've seen her slip in when she's stressed"

“Is she often stressed?” Linnea asked, concerned.

"I don'tr know about 'often' , usually she and I work different areas so to speak so Ican't get a good judge. I know she's gonna miss Sylvi, she said that. I thought maybe it was the tripple work load, but if you ask me? It might be romantic frustration. I mean, she's what, 18? Now the Baron has spent enough time near the balefire that he looks ..what, 28 ? but he's closer to 35? I'm guessing here. So she's trying not to just do everything right, but to show everyone how mature she is. He's not ready to knock boots with her because he's being a gent, or so I suspect but he wants to. She wants to. And.. well, what are her options? She never going to cheat on him, and I think he's at the stage where if I made a play for him he'd brush me aside...ditto for anyone else but her. "Yes, she's looking at this satyr wise "That's stressful. Ever notice she sleeps mostly at that house of hers isntead of the hold? Subconsciously, she wants to close the gap"
