"Hey, I had a shirt on," Barely, it was just a tight tank... NICE looking, though.... "I just needed my top layer to help hide and cushion those weird sculptures she makes. Sorry. Her art. Didn't mean to sound like Mr. Blaine there. I don't know why he has it out for her." He shakes his head, and then adds,

"Kat's an old friend. We haven't been close for a long time... pretty much since I went out for Football the first time. Mom used to babysit for her when we were just kids."

"Yeah well she might have a bit of a crush on you... so be careful of sending her false signals. She DOES Seem nice. And you're nice to help her" She takes his hand "But you can make it up to me anyway"

He squeezes the hand. "I went to talk to her.. but she ended up being the one who needed a hand. ...Mom told me that she's getting a divorce. Kat's parents split when she was little... I just wanted to ask her how she handled, y'know - everything." Chuck looks worried.

A nod , "How are you guys doing?" A squeeze of his hand, eyes grow gentle "I want to tell you everything will be okay"

"Brett's just been mad. I don't get it. Dad was as hard on him as any of us, but now that he's not around, it's like the guy walked on sunshine."

"Shit" She sighs

"Bet he's going to think I'm some evil monster that took your dad then"

"He yelled at mom the other day for 'driving him away'. It was like hearing an echo from when Dad was here. I know things will get better, it's just... hard, you know? But I'm sorry. How can I make it up to you for today?

She ponders then says "You... do me a favor by doing your mom a favor. You knnow she went to a shrink before right?"

"Yeah? ... what about it?" He looks a bit puzzled.

"Well, if your mom gets a therapist for this.. it doesn't need to be that same lady. Trust me on this. That psychologist was.. a bad fit for your mom. Okay? Bad fit for any of you" She actually looks at him intently

He nods, confused. "Sure. I don't get it, but... sure. I'll let her know."

"But I feel like I should do something for you, you know?"

A jingling song from nearby.... "Want an ice cream?" He offers.

A look up, "Sure.. just.. Dr. Greene is not the right fit. " She takes his hand "As for not getting it... let's just say it would be worse for your mom"

(Hope I got that name right, for Calanthe, replace with right one if so)

And she rises and goes with him to get some ice cream

(Ding ding! You got it!)

He walks with her and keeps a hold on her hand. Before they reach the truck, he leans in to kiss her cheek. "Thanks for understanding."

"You know, I AM an amazing girl friend"

A smile though

"And Amazing Girlfriends deserve choco tacos."

"Yes I do" She agrees then grins

Ice cream is had, and is delicious!

It may have been a hot moment in the kiln room earlier, but everything seems cool now.

When he is disracted, she takes a lick off HIS ice cream then dimples

REVENGE for her worry

He gives her a grin, and doesn't seem to realize that he's just gazing at her with a goofy smile on his face until ice cream drips onto his hand.

Her own eyes sparkle with delight "It was petty, but somehow the stolen ice cream tasted better than getting it fair" She leans against him lightly "Chuck, ,thank you for ..well, understanding that I might be pissed instead of telling me to calm downn or how it was just this or that. I realize it WAS just a misunderstanding, but thanks for respecting my feelings about it. "

He licks the last of the ice cream from his fingers, before wrapping an arm around her. "And I can't blame you for being upset when you were led to be.."

"Yeah, I swear, Kristen is SUCH a bitch" A huff

"I don't know what I ever saw in her." He shakes his head ruefully.

"You looked at her chest and ignored her personality?" A hip bump, light

He laughs. "I hate to admit it, but you're probably right. I don't pretend I'm some saint, but I can at least pretend that Sophomore Chuck is a bit older and wiser and less of a pig than Freshman Chuck."

"Well, I'm not one to talk really... because, while I DO really like you because you're nice, and kind, and brave and even sort of wise.. I also noticed you were pretty hot" A blush "Don't get a swelled head now"

"I won't. Not when I have a cute and smart girlfriend to keep me grounded."

"Cute huh?" She mulls it over "I'll take it"

And she enjoys her ice cream

"You are! Especially when you have ice cream on your nose."

Ack! Her eyes cross as she checks

He leans in to kiss her in the distracted moment!

And... she melts... more than the ice cream. For a moment it seems their noses might bump but he's tilted just right, and she tilts back just so annd returns i. Eyes clsoed.

If he were a changeling, he might feel a chimeical whirl wind aorund them both

He is not.. but that doesn't make the moment any less magical!

Not at all...they part and tiny chimerical hearts might be drifting on the wind "I forgive EVERYTHING..." She says huskily

"Should we almost fight more often?"
