The smell of sizzling meat has an entire pack of dogs drooling in their kennels, and most of the hold drooling a bit more discretely.
Barbeque is not an elegant noble event. It is a thing of paper napkins and ants, paper plates piled high and informal munching for hours. And yet, Silverwolf does not skip this bit of Americana, though it is an informal event. An invite was extended that if any Dark Gate fae happen to be patrolling in the area, they may stop in for a snack if they wish.
Danica stands before a grill that has been brought out onto a manicured lawn, and picnic blankets and small tables have been set up. The fare is simple, burgers and dogs, buns and toppings.
Marigold has made up for any simplicity in the main fare by providing a sumptuous dessert selection and freshly baked buns - even a standard weenie stands out when tucked into a boggan-crafted pretzel roll.
Bluebell provided a salad. It's... labeled as a salad? It jiggles ominously, a molded concoction with colorful bits in the opaque interior. Jiggle jiggle. Who will dare a taste?
Briar serves as assistant BBQ boss, handing off cooked platters and bringing more raw meat. A smoker is set up and has been cranking away for hours on massive slab of pork ribs. The redcap gleefully reminds anyone who swings past "I kilt it myself! You know Roach, if you whisper it while it cooks, you can still hear the piggie scream!"
Aiden sits in at a table in the shade, having invited Nadeen to join him if she will. He sips appreciatively at the sangria that Julius whipped up for the event. "You see, normally you'd use cheaper wine for this because the flavors don't stand out, but the sparkling vintage from the vineyard I'm reviewing actually stands up to the fortification and enhances the natural sweetness of the fruit..."
Linnea returns from a patrol on the area, and helps herself to a burger, though she remains alert and on watch.
Willy was requested to help out with a fireworks display, if she so desired. Not specifically because of her kith's penchant for explosions, but because someone needs to see to it, and everyone else had their hands full! Dross and funds for purchasing supplies was provided along with freedom to set up whatever she desired, though Aiden did ask that it remain, ahem, suitably classy for an Ailil hold.
Calanthe is not present. Perhaps the informal nature of the event does not appeal...
