Meanwhile, Danica shows Gwen how to darken hers for watching from the woods. Observing, Calanthe interrupts to cast a veil onto both Trolls. "Easier than cleaning off that nasty greasepaint later." She says, sniffing with a bit of disdain.
Briar is in deep conversation with the pack chosen to accompany her. A pair of wolfhounds, Mischka the Ovcharka, the scenthound Glass that Briar firmly denies is 'hers', and a new pair of dogs, silvery-gray furred Weimaraners that are being tested on this hunt. All of the hounds are seated around her in a semi-circle, apparently listening closely!
Julius is doing triple-duty with checking that everyone is fully equipped and ready to go, convincing Marigold that they do NOT need to pack a full picnic lunch along, and soothing Bluebell's nerves. "No, I think having a meal ready for the return is fine - and no, bunny, the hunters most certainly will NOT come here. At least, if they do at all, it will be as prisoners, and if it really bothers you, we can ask Dark Gate to take them."
Aiden looks for Nadeen. "Are you fully prepared? Do you think I should come with you?" Earlier, it had been discussed that the hold consensus - perhaps heavily weighed on by Calanthe - was that Aiden should remain behind. But he seeks Nadeen's opinion.
