Briar watched Nadeen departing the workshop, and calls over, "Whatcha doing? Firing Willy?"

Sounding a touch hopeful. Her bloodhound pup - well, not hers, it just hangs around... frolicking by her feet.

"No, Briar, her work is good," A tilt of her head, "Is there some reason you want Willy fired?"

Briar snorts. "I don't care if she comes or goes, or shits or gets off the pot, or lives or dies! She's not part of Silverwolf."

"She just WORKS here."

"She is kind of reclusive, likes her own company I suspect," Nadeen says "Speaking of folks working here. There will be some new faces here"

"Good." Briar snorts, at her being reclusive. Then curiously. "Who? And why? I'm not getting a tutor, am I?" Her expression goes a bit sour. "I did the stupid classes, it's not my fault if they grade it shitty."

"Oh, your teacher? " For a moment she's tempted to name a random sluagh and thus make said sluagh's life hell, but that would probably be wrooong. Instead she says "Not that I've heard of. I'm getting a maid. She's a kinain named Flo. She maybe helping Marigold" confidentially "So maybe that hip will get less stress." Then she says "Now, Flo is my handmaiden and I would prefer her, and her two year old, not to be triffled with."

"A maid?" Briar scoffs a little. "Even Calanthe wipes her own butt. If she can't get some bumlicker to do it for her." Briar smirks a bit, reveling a bit in smacktalking the Chancellor.

"Well, mmm" A speculative look "She might reduce the amount of cleaning YOU have to do as well, but if you really hate the idea.." Hummm

"I didn't say that! You mean she's gonna be like MY maid, too? I can tell her what to do?"

"No, you can't, but Marigold can, so you might luck out and get some help with things otherwise YOU might be picking up," She says "And I can order her too."

A bit of a snort as she thinks this through, and announces, "I don't NEED no maid, I can do what I need doing just fine my self. But if she does Marigold's chores so I ain't bothered by them, that's good for me. The old bat has a kid, you say? Two isn't even a person yet. They're more like loud dogs at that age. Or cats. Whiny ones. I -like- dogs."

"Well let's hope he's more like a dog then" She says nodding "now, what's this about school? "

Briar gets a little bit cagey. "Nuthin."

"So if I pulled your grades from school by pretending to be family, it would all be peachy keen huh?"

Briar kicks at the ground. "School is bullshit. I ain't getting no good grades even if I tried, and what use is it when I'm not gonna be some big-wig college whatsit or get a stupid desk job anyways?"

"Respect" She says "It may not seem fair, but an education does get you a certain amount of respect"

"Not to me. Not to my kind. What's respectable about sitting on your arse and being told what to think? I respect people who FIGHT, and who DO things. School is just being told boring stories about dead people... sometimes they're okay, like battles and shit? But learning about... what money they use in France? Or how to make triangles out of numbers? That's STUPID. I already KNOW what a triangle is."

"If someone ever tries to pay you for breaking a leg, knowing what foreign money is worth and like might come in handy. Mmm I had not considered Redcap socoeity, but you won't be dealing with just redcaps. " She ponders "As for angles and math and science, well, if you ever defenstate someone, it might be interesting to gauge the slope and velocity of the fall. See, go fast enough far enough bones are almost SURE to shatter. Wouldn't you like to know how high and far is needed? And why?"

Briar blinks. And she ponders this. "I... guess...?"

"Also, knowing big words can help you keeping some folks from pulling one over you. For example, let's say some perfect blonde girl with her nose in the air says you're being remarkably insensate today' and then she smiles. you might roll your eyes and move on. BUT if you knew what Insensate meant, your reaction would vary I bet"

Brow furrowing a bit. "Is that an insult?"

"It can be, and probably was, but you'd never know if you didn't know what the word was and she'd get away with it"

"Knowledge isn' the only power, but is A Power, and there will always be some folks who love to abuse others with whatever power they've got and others are lacking. Even education"

She grumbles. "But MY school doesn't teach anything good like that. And I am soooooo SICK of the DAMN COMPUTER."

"Mmm" She ponders "I might know a place you can learn in person still, but hopefully you'll be vacinated and walking halls soon"

She mutters. "I got kicked out. Before the Rona."

"But I didn't want to be there anyways!" She quickly retorts!

"I'll talk to the baron about a place where you can study and do classes with other kids. They have rules too mind you but you at least might get to meet more kids"

"They'd said maybe I could go back to the local place after the virus is done killin' off everyone who doesn't matter. But that's just because they gotta. I don't want to go back there just for them to watch me waiting for me to do something so they can gloat and kick me out again. It ain't worth my time." Obviously bothered by this despite her gruff tone. A glance over at Nadeen. "No shit? Someplace new?"

"Believe it or not, a farm" She makes a face "Well, next to it"

"Farms can be alright. If they slaughter their own cows n' shit." She sounds interested. "And maybe someone'll get run over by a tractor?"

"What, cow shit and machinery injuries don't do it for you, Ba-ron-ess?" She asks teasingly, seeing the grimace.

She DID grimace, "Afraid not. I prefer the gibbet"

"They have a gibbet? BITCHIN!"

"No, they dont, but I do"

"You DO? Is it at your new house? Can I come see?"

"It's in storage actually.. never got the channce to use it" Who knew folks would be so attached to Symon?

"Aw." Disappointed, but - "Can we put it up for halloween?"

"You know, maybe we can!" her eyes light up

"You're alright, you know." Briar nods to the surprisingly bloodthirsty Baroness. "I won't bug your maidy lady none if she stays out of my way. And I won't even spook at her kid. They're no fun until they're old enough to know WHY they should be afraid, you know?"

"There is wisdom in your words" She concedes "One should always learn not just to fear, but WHO they should fear"

"Yeah!" She nods. "Lemme know about the farm. And if anyone messes with your lady, lemme know. That's what a pack does." A toothy grin. "Someone mess with one of us, they mess with all of us. Or if she messes up and steals your stuff or something? I can get rid of her for ya."

"I will" she says "And Briar, I hope you do get an education. You're already dangerous. With an education on top of it... I can see you making people afraid even when you're not there. Thank you. and talk to you later"

"Smell you later!"

Glass goes, "Wuff!"

She gives glass a scratch, then walks off
