"Oh thank god." D'Lorean says

"It's a half day's ride... maybe a full day depending" She says "And yeah, is it me, or does this sound like prodigal stuff?"

"It sounds exactly like prodigal stuff. We have some close to home."

"Friendly or not friendly?" Worried look

"Well, these ones sound like they ought to be the friendlier kind."

"I sure hope so. Calanthe's got Silver wolf on lock down." A frown "technically she can accuse me of horse theft. Would you believe she wasn't going to send ANYONE out to help find the Baron?" And she starts a slow walk with her horse at first , they can talk and ride at the same time

Snort. "Ailil."

"They're not all bad, and .. I don't know, Calanthe may not be all bad herself, but she doesn't like me, and this little powerplay gives her the excuse to get rid of me if I fail, and what's she lose if I win? Not a damn thing. But that's not important, the baron is. Guy gave me a chance. You and I both know what it's like to have a place where you can prove yourself" She picks up speed "I'm going to veil us from others so we can ride unnoticed"

"Smart."

"Be REAL respectful with the wolves, though. They're touchy."

"Maybe we should have got a diplomat" Wryly... she makes an umbrella motion, humming a song... and the veil folds over them both

"Well, we'll figure it out... shoulda gotten my wolf friend, really."

"I hope by the time this is over we don't wish we brought everyone. But hey, knighthood, if it was easy, anyone would do it"

The sound of hoofbeats.... and Danica, fully armored and on her massive Fresian, trots down the trail. Brego snorts, and she slows, passing them....

Her eyes narrow as she scans the horizon - expression tense and unhappy... but her mount does not show any worry. Why would he... he knows those horses!

And she passes onwards, circling back towards Silverwolf - apparently running a close patrol.

The Satyress holds perfectly still and motions the Gwydion to do like wise

A pat on Star's neck, steady and soothing.

And the Thane passes by, none the wiser... hoofbeats fading as she returns back towards the manor.

A breath "Oathsworn trolls ... great when they're not ordered against you" She looks to Dagmar "no offense"

"No offense."

"She's doing what she has to - they're defending the hold."

"And I'm helping. Nadeen and Connor are both important to me."

"Yes. But she also can't defy or she'll be oathbroken. The thanes fought to go after their lord"

"Well, Calanthe is a bitch."

"I trust her as far as Symon can throw her."

"I don't.. there are complications" She admits

"Complications?"

"I'm not supposed to talk about it, but it turns out she might have been helping the Baron"

"That's a good thing, right?"

"Helping him with what?"

"His health.. kind of" true

"I didn't know he had health issues.."

The map provided by Julius indicates a few hours ride, before reaching the first of the marked points. Plenty of time to talk, and decide where they may be headed. It's hand drawn as the history moves forward in the journal it has been updated a few times - new roads added, rivers slightly changing course...

"I shouldn't have said anything about that..." She looks at the notes "oh kay..what do you think?"

A fairly clear indication of where the line crosses from neutral territory into 'no man's land'...

"Well, there's Carthage... so, maybe strike for the closest star?"
