She sighs. "I don't know how long I'm here. I don't know... I don't know what I'm really supposed to be doing here. They're nice, I guess."

“Well, I'm here because you're here.” He says, simply. “And that's where I want to be.”

"Well, we're us." Her mouth tugs to the side in a lopsided half-smile. "Took us long enough to figure it out."

He gives a small huff of laughter. “They say it's the journey, not the destination. But they don't know what they're talking about.”

"They say all kinds of shit. Who are 'they' anyways?"

"I do wish I had a better handle on my destination, though, maybe. I dunno. Like - Rivervale isn't.... it's home, it's where I want to be, and I don't know why I've got it in my head I need... want... why I think I ought to be a hero like Ch-.. like Brekke, the legend, to be worth bein' Storm."

"Arguably, most Storms out there aren't legends."

He snakes a slender, clammy hand into one of hers. “When you're with me, I'm home.” Simply.

Then adds, “ I know what you mean, though. Rivervale WAS the Chief, in ways that I can't quite define. Nothing again Kerri, you know I respect her. But her barony just isn't going to be the same.”
