@catnik Thistle is paused halfway down a hallway, making notes and sketches in her notepad furiously.

"..."

"...ist..."

"This...."

Something annoying keeps being repeated and distracting her - and then a HAND moves between her eyes and the notepad!

"Huh?"

She looks up into Art's grinning face. "You were in another world."

"Oh, hi!" Her cheeks bloom pink, and a warm coral curls across her spirals.

"I was working on an idea." She holds out her scribbles for him to see - there are sketches of levers and mallets hooked to a turntable.

"You've been gone all afternoon. Fornax misses you, I think." He looks it over, and tilts his head to one side, then the other. "...Cool?" He offers, a bit bemused.

"Is it some sort of... death to composers?"

"It's a Seismic Somnusonic."

"Uh - trying to play a lullaby to a rock spirit, basically."

Coral shifting to yellow. "I'm gonna check with Wudlig, though. We can't risk this going wrong."

"Like, a rock and roll spirit? Some sort of musical chimera?"

"No, literal rock? Underground, at the quarry."

"Like, okay, so I think we need you to do omen mojo on it, or maybe, like, have a vision?"

"OH and I wanted to ask you about heraldry..."

Now she's digging in her backpack, leaving her sketchbook in Art's hands.

"Rock!" He nods eagerly, "I get it now." He holds the sketchbook carefully so his fingers don't smudge the ink.

"Did you want to design a personal crest?" He perks up. "You have to put a thistle in it, you know."

"Well, I use a thistle for my maker's mark, but don't you need to be noble for a crest?"

"But, anyways, we found this seal at the site..." unfolding the rubbing.

"You don't need to be, I mean, there's no law against it." He leans in, examining it. "Whose crest is this? Interesting. It's hard to make out the... is that some sort of hammer?" He squints.

"A hammer and a rose."

"Hmmmmm"

"Take this..." She exchanges the rubbing for her sketchbook, and quickly freehands out a cleaner image of the arms.

"So, you ever see a coat of arms like this in the records?"

He considers this for a long moment, then says... "You know... I did. I'm trying to remember exactly where... maybe Fornax can dig it back up for us? Wanna go look now?"

"Sure!"

"I figured if anyone would know it'd be you. There were also these not-runes. Some kind of writing system."

He looks over this, but then shakes his head. "I don't recognize this... a lot of magic workers develop their own symbols. They look SIMILAR to something I think I saw in one of the tomes in Lord Aiden's workshop..." He considers, then grabs Thistle's hand and starts towing her towards the stairs. "C'mon!"

She isradiating pink and coral again as she runs with the Beaumayn!
