The two boys are both playful and rambunctious, though one is more of a reader than the other. Their mother encourages them to find books they like and reads stories to them.

She's a cool mom, which is why they're confused she doesn't see the cute monster

"Looks like Stitch" Dylan decides. "From that super old disney movie?"

Gerard ponders "Kind of..." He wiggles his fingers. The creature wiggles its fingers back, "Mom? Can we keep it?"

'Yeah, mom, please?" Dylan throws in

"Keep what?" She says

"The monster" they say together

The mother looks around, but sees nothing. She double checks. She does not want to accidentally approve a possum being smuggled into their home.

"It's right here," Gerard says helpful like pointing.

"Oh, right," She nods "Sorry, kids, the dog would get jealous."

She sees nothing, but decides to play along.

"They'll be friends" Dylan assures

"Best buds!" Gerard says "Like Dylan an' me!" He side hugs his brother.

His brother BEAMS real big, then gives his brother a shove when his mom looks a way

She muses over this, "Well, are we sure it is a safe monster?"

"I'd stake Dylan's life on it" Gerard assures.

"Hey!" Dylan says, then adds "Yes, it's a GOOD monster"

Their mother 's eyes search around for where they were pointing, and she walks over to that spot "OKay, but any trouble and you're out."

The only problem is... while this was going on, the monster moved up a tree. She's now looking at the ground, and she talks to the spot where the monster WAS, not where it is "And the dog gets veto"

And that's when the boys began to worry there was something wrong with mom, because while it was great she pretended to see it, she didn't. And that made them worry for her. They turned to invite the monster, but it was gone.

"Awww, nevermind mom, the monster left" Dylan sighs.

"Oh such a shame, Come on, boys, let's go." She motions

The boys, a bit sad they lost their monster, whisper "You saw it right?" One says to the other.

"I did, it was real," The other whispers back.

"The real-est ever" The other agrees.

"Then why can't mom see it?" The other inquires.

"I don't know, you think she's sick?"

"I hope not. Thoughts and Prayers?"

"Fine, but you do the prayers..."

"Ah, prayers can get dull, how come you get to do the thoughts?"

"Because I am better at thinking" The other assures.

"Are not."

"Are too."

"Dylan, Gerard... come on" Their mother insists as she sees them dawdlling

And the boys, still worried for their mother only being able to see MERELY the colors folks know about wonder why these new colors AND monsters are starting to show themselves NOW.
