Now Dagmar had to find a way to explain to CJ he couldn't take them all home when they were older

"But we only have TWO dogs" He protests "That's not a big number.."

"Two is a big number when it's CJ years."

"Well.. yeah" he says "But I'll get older" he promises "So we can have more animals"

They return to see a car in the drive way

One that isn't their folks

"More strangers" CJ says

"Yeah. Hold my hand."

He does "Don't worry, sis. I'll protect you" Though he does stay close to her leg

She heads inside, cautiously.

"Well, I promised my daughter that... oh there she is... " Tove says. Near her is man in what appears to be a tuxedo , a pooka in fact... his beak where nose would be

BROW.

"This is Manfred North, " Tove tells Dagmar and CJ "Another Nanny applicant"

"Mr. North, this is my daughter Sam aka Dame Dagmar ap Gwydion, and that is my son C.J." Tove says

Mr. North lifts his hat and bows "Please, call me Manny"

"Hi."

"Hello" Cj says

"CJ, your sandwich is in the kitchen" His mom says "Sam, would you set him up and ... your call if you want to sit in this one" Sheepish grunt ("Pooka.. messes up the boon so your call?")

"Oh any King is welcome to question the Emperor" the Penguin pooka gives a dignified chuckle

"I'll get him set up and join you in a sec."

"Would you care for a cup of tea, miss? I can make you two" Manny says

"I'm good."

CJ pulls his sister's sleeve. "PB & J...." Hinting

"PB & J, yeah."

Sandwich is prepped, sippy cup of milk.

That the technical-adult ALSO gets PB&J and milk is perhaps not worth a comment.

Is it chocolate or strawberry? Then it gets a comment

a positive one

....

Chocolate.

"Yay"

There is a sandwich for Dagmar too

Tove knows - one grape, one strawberry. She's a growing girl.

And when Dagmar comes out she sees Manny and her mom ready to start the interview

She sits, setting her plate down. Manny gets a suspicious stare.

"May I see a resume?" Tove inquires of Manny

"I don't seem to ..." he pats his tux, "AH ha, miss poppins hid it right here, my pardon" he hands it over

The resume is impressive. He's been a nanny for 8 years, and once nannyed for a Gwydion Lady in the Duchy of the Stone Coast

Brow. ("A Gwydion?")

Shrug ("Looks legit")

Manny says "So precious, some of those eggs I warmed with my own feet"

"Why did you become a nanny?"

"I had the suit" he says explaining "You have to have the suit" A lie, you do not have to have the suit "Also I'm good with kids" True, at least he thinks so "It began as a side hustle, while I was butlering" mostly true? "And someone needed some one to care for a childling at hold" True "I took one to a side room to give activities to, then others came in and asked if it was open and if I was 'the nanny' I said "i'm Fran' and the next thing I knew every parent in the hold wanting a break LOBBED their children at me and ran." Exageration "I was actually quite amused" True

Tove looks at dagmar , a quizical brow ("That check out ?")

She rubs a temple, but nods.

"What are your thoughts on discipline and punishment?"

"Clearly boarding school is the only answer" LIE! "Otherwise the childling might find out I can be a softie" (true) "I'm a pooka, I play to that strength... and front forward. " (True and lie) "I might throw questions about them, eventually they catch and I learn waht the reel problem is. As a short troll, I am naturally trust worthy" (true true.. owch...)

Dagmar is making a squinty face.
