"I might do track instead of basketball. I think track might give me... more time? If that makes sense?"

He tilts his head even as he chews a bit of squishy faux meat. "Time for what?"

"For going home. For the horses. I can get weights for the apartment, I wouldn't need to spend all my evenings and weekends at practice."

"Oh, I thought you meant time, like... into the future." He considers. "You could probably place like, in the big shots if you wanted to. If you didn't mind the publicity. Not sure how well it pays, but you could always pawn the shiny medals."

"I dunno. I'm not looking to be famous."

"I like sports, but it's not..." She shrugs.

"Yeah, I get ya." He nods. "You just want to do something good, yeah? Power, Responsibility, yadda yadda." A small smile, not quite a smirk, but fond.

She nods. "And sports are fun, but... yeah."

"Well, being here might help. You can spy on everyone else and see if they have a good thing going, and just steal that idea."

"Heh."

"Still... firefighter does seem kind of cool, right?"

"Yeah. They have to be tough, and strong. I'd never have a chance. But who knows, maybe someday you might save me from a fire." A grin.

"Well, you know I would."

"You'd better. And no making me wait while you save any shiftless women or whiny children first. I'm your best friend, and that means I claim preference."

Smirk. "Okay."

"Ha, that was easier than I thought. Guess we're stuck together."

"Yeah, well. Like you said, best friends."

A thumbs up. "Yeah, it means you're stuck with me. And if you lose me along the way, what's the next best thing, Jimmy? Better home I don't get canned."

"I lose you, I'll probably drop out."

"Well, at that point it won't matter to ME. I'll just stick around and haunt your ass until we can reincarnate together." He sounds 100% serious.

"How about we try to avoid hauntings?"

"You know I'll come for you." Stubborn. Loyal. Troll.

He snickers. "Fine, fine. Yeah. I know."

"Besides, I don't want to wait that long. We got years left."

"At least 80 for me, I plan on being a proper decrepit crypt-geezer." A look over Dagmar, "And at least 40-odd for you on the outside, what with the way you jump into danger. More if you happen to befriend someone who can cast daily Fair Fortune's before you go do the crazy on teh regular."

A flash of a grin.

"I'm working on the primal thing, too." Second burger is ALSO half gone by now.

Symon is perhaps a third of the way into his own, picking off bits and examining each before deigning to pop them in his mouth. "How's that going for you? Winter is trickier than I thought..." He admits, "But I'm learning."

Shrug. "It sure ain't my specialty. But I'm learning."

"I'm afraid I tend to prefer plain honest fists, y'know?"

"Yeah, but you can line your fists with fire or rock, and then you get a +2 to damage, or +4 with elemental advantage..."

She nods. "Exactly."

"...Maybe we could do a d&d group here?"

"Like, with muggles?" He considers. "Might be a good way to hunt up dreamers..."

She nods!

"You think there's a fire here?"

Shake of his head. "We'd know it if there was another hold this close... At least, I would hope so. Then again, there are little ones, tiny flames, enough to support just a motley or even just a single soul, and those that know about THAT don't go sharing the info around. Good way to get your bale stolen."

She nods. "And home isn't far. Or Teaneck's even closer."

"Teaneck ain't bad. I admit I don't know much about them."

"They're... I dunno, I don't know them well, either."

"Lots of fancy types."

"Good for an emergency, but it aint' home."

"And I mean, I have, y'know... but it's different, being blue and titled versus pointy eared."

He nods. "I can imagine. It's like, sometimes, with other sluagh? They treat me like, you know. Not something to scrape off a shoe. But that's just kith politics. Rank I have there, plus $3 will buy me a cup of coffee."

She nods. "Well, we'll check it out. And get that D&D group."
