The tall teen startles, and looks for the source.

A middle aged man who looks vaguely familiar. wait, he was in the sports listing for the staff. Oh he's an assistant Coach.

"Sorry, should have kept quiet but it was a nice shot."

"Heh. Sorry. Couldn't resist."

"Hey, my knees blew out awhile back and I still can't resist a good game of H-o-r-s-e" A smile "Charlie Dithers. Ast Coach for the men's team. "

"Yeah, saw you on the website."

"You played for Indiana, before."

"I did. " Dithers nods "Not everyone bothers to do the homework. The fact you know who I am means you're either a fan, a player yourself, or both. Am I right?"

"I play varsity."

"Yeah? Take a few more shots" He suggests "Going for a scholarship?"

A shrug. "Got some letters." Bounce, bounce... Fwish

"Good. What position are you hoping for?"

He observes her form and performance

"Well, I would have to choose. There's basketball...." Fwish "I usually play center or PF, there." No wonder, she's tall.

"But I also throw. Hammer, javelin, shotput."

"Oh dear, there maybe a fight over you" He nods, "i'm biased towards basketball myself . And I've got guys who wish they were as tall as you"

Snort. "I'd be short for a guy."

"Dad thinks I've still got a few inches left, though."

"Mmm might be right, your dad" Dithers nods "Well, either way, you might love the challenges here. It's a whole nother level, and it lets you excell and find your limits and pass them"

"Yeah?"

"oh yeah, I can't promise it'll be the same for you as it was for me, but for me going from High to college was...it was an adventure"

HIs cell rings

"Ah, well, enjoy your practice. " He gathers the cellphone up "My daughter is actually calling instead of texting. that's a must answer"

"Oh yeah." Agreement, and a nod.

and off he goes "Hey, Sweetpea. Whats up?"
