And she agreed kind of? But now irene is looking at elephants!

"I don't think it hurts them..."

"It's the princple of the thing..." He says "It would draw too much attention"

Satisfied she understands, he moves to talk to Irene's mother

but there's even a BABY Elephant!

Irene ponders.

Wouldn't the Zebra over there look better with Purple stripes?

But can she reach?

Maybe she could coax one closer

Probably against the rules... probably

"Heeeeeere baby Elephant."

Wakanda, Prince of the Elephants, glances at his mother, and notices she's distracted. He reallly shouldn't... but... it was nice making new friends

So he scooted closer, lifting his lttle trunk to rise up above where the girl is

"Hello!"

She reaches out to pet the trunk.

the trunk gives her hand a pat as Wakanda pets HER

Irene beams!

wakanda gives a happy squeek of sorts. One day it maybe loud trumpeting sound, but right now ? Higher pitched

Lots of giggling from the girl.

Of course, the little elephant is almost crawling up the wall to make sure he can feel more of her arm. And Irene is almost over it to return the favor

Which might be why TWO mothers at the same time, and notice their respective kids risking injury

"Irene!" Her mother calls out

Even as the elephant mom gives a sound of command to wakanda!

"Aw." A regretful goodbye-pat.

Wakanda pats back. Grown ups spoil a lot of fun. And he settles, then... he picks something off the ground and tries to throw it to her...

it starts to fall a bit short, unless she can snag it before her chance is gone, what ever it is

What a catch! Her nimble fingers dart out what Wakanda was sure he bungled and catch it

In fact, wakanda trumpets excitedly in elephant probably the equivilent of 'that was amazing!'

"Thank you!" She looks to see just what it might be..

to her possible surprise she finds an odd cube. Different colors on each side. It must be very old and probably needs cleaning. It appears to be some puzzle left by a long ago civilization

"Ooo, hey."

(But dirty) 🙂

"Irene" Her mom moves to her "You aren't supposed to lean over the exhibit like that you could have fallen in"

"I wouldn't!"

"Maybe we should go home" She observes "If you can't listen to folks when they're looking out for you"

"I listened!" She protests.

'mmm" A raised brow 'we'll talk about it later... and where did you get a rubki's cube?"

"From the elephant! It was a gift."

For a moment, dout crosses her face, but instead of refusing she says 'Are you sure? that's...odd"

"Yup!" Confident and happy.

Her mom smiles deciding it's so "Did you thank the elephant?"

She runs back to the railing. "Thank you!"

And back to her mom. "Uh-huh!"

Okay, her mom snerks, then nods "Manners maketh Elephant fans"
