Otto rubs his eyes and stares at the TV. It was on a commercial for old people... but now the screen flickers with odd colors

"uhm" he blinks and shakes his head, as the TV commercial returns to something for old people liver spots

Connor leans over and whispers to HIS FRIEND, having drawn them out here with a rollicking tale of adventure and woe.. completely unbelievable, but perhaps intriguing enough to get the other childling's attention.

"See, it's exactly like I said!" As they peep through the window. Narrator note: it is nothing like anything he said.

Lily whispers "Oh, he's like a firefly in a dark glass jar." A beat "Should we shake him?"

"Out of the way, twerp" His big sister shoves him to the side, "i'm streaming my favorite influencer on the big screen"

Otto moves to the side "Careful, I was in a hospital recent like" He makes an exagerated clasp to his side

She ROLLS hers "You're fine" And the teenage girl tunes him out

Gerd is a much more attentive big sister it seems

Connor covers his mouth to restrain a soft whimper. "That's not nice."

He reaches up, and judging that the teen has tuned everything else out, lightly taps on the glass!

"We should let him out of the jar." He agrees to Lily. "Otherwise what if there aren't even any holes in it?"

"Oh, a fair point. Killing is wrong, because they'll learn naught' Lily agrees. She taps lightly too

It takes Otto a moment, then he turns his head, and his eyes widen

"Everyone will die." Connor nods, he's learned from Lilly. "But not today."

His ears perk up! Wiggling fingers at the boy.

Otto squints at Lily, then recoils for a moment

Lily smiles toothlessly "did you see him find me weird? How nice"

Connor just beckons again!

And Otto slips out, his sister none the wiser as she makes weird faces trying to position her visage for maximum make up effect

He comes out his back door, then slips around low to find them "You came for me. I wondered if it was real"

Lily moves from the window, and then says "Otto, we have come for you" She points a spindly finger, "Don't look at my feet. Imagine me gliding along the surface"

Otto, who WAS about to look at her feet as she closed with finger pointing, yanks them up dutifully

Connor beams. "My name is..." And then his smile falters a touch, and he looks uncertain. A glance to Lilly.

Lily says "This is Connor, if Symon keeps teaching me properly, I shall embalm him some day with loving care. I am Lily. We shall tell you more ,but first we must open your jar"

Otto says "Uhm. embalm?"

"Why are you whispering?" Otto asks as another question comes up

"Why does your breath smell of peanut butter?" She counters

"I had a PBJ " he explains

"My breath smells like peanut butter too!" Connor likes this!

"Or it would when I remembered to eat enough peanut butter cookies. Do you like cookies? Does your belly still hurt?"

"It's better" Otto says "Thanks. I would give you a PBJ, but.. uhm. I ate it."

"Oh no! I forgot to bring cookies. I should come back..."

"Oh I'm not hungry" otto says

Lily says "Connor, we must kidnap him, adbduct him, and empower him, or else his immortal soul will perish"

"Perish?" Otto's eyes widen

"She means to say that you should come out and play with us."

His tail wags!

"Okay, but.. if you're going to kidnap me and play with me, I have to be back by dinner or mom will be upset" he explains

no one wants an upset mother

Connor shakes his head at that! "What's for dinner?" Taking Otto's arm and starting to trot away from the house.

Otto says "Pork Chops.. and mashed potatos, and I think greens, mom always tries something green too"

"She sounds like an awful nice mom."

"Well, her lima beans aren't great but I don't tell her that"

"I understand. I ate too many lie-ma beans when I was a pup, and now I can't tell the truth very good." He looks around for a nearby place without too many people, maybe a nice playground?

Ah, the playground, it was fallilng apart, but locals (including some fae) replaced the rusty parts

Yes, it looks empty

"What do you want to play? Marbles, or hopscotch, or jacks?"

Otto says "Oh Marbles! I'm good at those.. "The he says "But I left mine in my room"

"I brought mine! I haven't lost all of them yet." He offers over a single marble, which gleams in the winter sunlight.
