She thinks about this for a while, as they soak. "I wasn't sure for the longest time. The chief is so.... stern, and foreboding. Coming in without understanding trolls in general, it took me a while to see the softer interior. Like, like a loaf of sourdough bread, kinda." A smile. "Coming in fresh, it's hard to see the little things that can be missed that convey a world of meaning."
"And the mountain? I admit, it took me some time. The Liam thing didn't help much. I came in with a chip the size of Texas on my shoulder about that house, above and beyond the normal heeby-jeebies. And he's even harder to understand. I still am not sure how you can translate what a beard twitch means.. but now I can see that there IS a wealth of meaning behind the little things, even if me or other folk can't really pick up on it."
She nuzzles Siv's chin. "That all goes to say, they're good people even if they are tough nuts to understand, and they DO treat me well. They gave me a chance when few others would have, and that's something I'll never forget." A bit of a smile. "And they even are coming around to 'Piper, Siv's Paramour' instead of just 'Piper, the Troubadour', which I appreciate too."
