Jonas says with utter straight face, "You should see me in a crown" . Hey, he does listen to the pop 40 now and then

Siv grins "It smells great.. can't wait to try it"

"A crown, and nothing else?" Viola says with an impish grin! "Oh, you're right hun, he DOES blush cutely."

"Purple is my favorite color these days." Piper responds.

"And she tries to turn me that shade often" Jonas coughs recovering

Siv smiles "nice thing about being Fiona. I don't do it so much"

They settle in and start passing dishes around. Veggie jambalaya, fried chicken, mashed potatoes (with or without gravy!), a green salad with fruit and nuts and cheese, fresh rolls from a local bakery... there is plenty to eat and it all smells great.

Viola waits until Jonas has a mouthful of food to ask, "So, when are you planning to make honest women of these two maidens?" With an innocent tone but a wickedly amused glint in her eyes.

It is to the credit of Jonas that he manages to not send a wad of mashed potatoes and gravy down his windpipe. A large gulp before that can happen, and he wipes his mouth with a napkin, "Perhaps when the foundations of financial provision I can supplement them with rise to match the adoration I currently feel."

Piper and Siv notice that- Jonas gets big worded as a defense mechanism sometime, like when he's nervous or the like

"Vi, don't tease the poor boy." Vera scolds. "She's teasing you, you know. Why, we've been married for years now, Vi and I, and we still aren't sure who the man of the house is supposed to be. You're allowed to be protective because you're big and blue. But if it's testosterone fueled, I think you'll find that Pippy won't stand for much of that beyond the occasional spoiling."

"Mom!" Piper hisses, turning bright pink at the nickname!

"Pippy?" Siv says, first with surprise, then she with delight, "Pippy?"

Jonas nods, "Both ladies have made it abundantly clear that only so much machismo will be tolerated," A glance to Piper "Both Fishie and Pippy are very proud."

SIV's turn to blanch, then blush

Piper is attempting to sink down and become one with her chair.

"Sit up straight at the table." Vera sips her drink to hide a smile. "You too, Miss Fishie."

Siv explains lamely " i was born on a ship and my da, he .. well he gave me the nickname as a baby.." But she straightens up

Jonas hides a smile too, fond, then more relaxed, "I suppose I have over done it in my attempts to support them in some areas. They've both HAVE given me a talking to though. You have raised a confident young woman who is generous of spirit while still able to stand on her own two hooves. My attempts are as much to make ME feel better as anything and I'm working on modeation. Honest"

Viola and Vera exchange a glance and smile.

"As long as you're all happy, that's what matters." Viola says, and Vera adds, "As long as you're all happy, that's what matters."

Siv takes looks at Piper and Jonas, "Deleriously so. " A bite "Oh my god this chicken is good"

Crispy batter, succulent meat, and deliciously spiced. Not the same as Kerri makes, but still darn good!

"Well, then we're happy for you." Viola says, as she scoops a bit of jambalaya onto Siv's plate. "Here, I made the shrimp on the side, it's a bit of a travesty, but the things you do for love..." As Vera preens at the praise.

"Okay you two," Siv grins "You've been very kind, and you've also picked us up, shaken us and seen if good things fell out.. hope they have, but let me turn the tables a bit. You were both in music, and I know it's a great uniter, but how'd you two ever hook up? I mean, you seem to be very different in some ways"

"It's the country jazz combo I think" Jonas explains

"Some years back..." Vera starts,

"More than I care to remember!" Viola adds with a laugh. "We both were here to play at a Pride festival - one of the early ones! And we got double booked. Me with my jazz quartet and Vera with her country trio. We were the only fae present, and we butted heads over the time-slot snafu."

"It was her or us, and rather than lose BOTH musical acts over two stubborn goats butting heads, we decided to play together - it turns out that jazz and country mixed up makes for pretty awesome Bluegrass covers." Vera grins. "And the rest was history."

Siv is delighted! "oh that's wonderful. Making sweet music together literally!"

"Which is not to say that we didn't have our own fights and troubles, but we worked things out and here we are, a happy pair of old married goats."

"Speak for yourself, I'm in my prime." Viola snorts a bit.

"If I look half as good as eiher of you when I'm in MY prime, I will still be a fox" Siv assures

"I hope so too, I got them mystery genetics." Piper says with a grin.

Not noticing the mixed glance that her moms pass over her head as she reaches for another roll. But, it passes.

"More bread, Jonas?" The dishes are passed!

"Yes, please"

Siv however glances over at the moms.. did they just exchange a ... oh she wishes she were a boggan
