to reappear outside of Carhenge

Kerri takes a moment to orient herself (she doesn't do the flickerflash thing often), then scans the area to find the rig.

And.. she doesn't see it.

"oh boy" Gerd says "it's not here"

Nearby, there is a Dinner. Trust someone to set something up near even a cheesy tourist trap

Gerd checks her phone "Crap. We're a half hour later. Sorry the flash does that sometimes"

"Oh, f-...." Kerri stops herself before she can curse in front of Gerd. She checks the image. "Lets go to the spot where it looks like the rig is, and see if there's anything there. Then maybe we should check in the diner over there to see if anybody remembers it.

"Fair.. " She says . Kerri finds the spot the truck had to be parked.

But all that's left now is ggravel and tire tracks

"Well, at least it looks like they drove it off," she mutters, and then starts to head for the diner.

The Diner's name is the 'When the Cars are Right' Cafe, and has a logo of an old station wagon with Cthulu overlaid

Gerd smirks "I remember this place. Uncle Vali brought me here once."

"Did he?" Kerri aims for a light tone, but she now has increasing suspicions.

Entering in, Kerri can feel a magic of aversion on the place, meant to have mortals overlook this particular building.

And thus it's understandible she should find some changelings here and others who may not be changnelings but are low in banality

"Hold your furkingg horses I'll be with you in a minute" Yells one waitress. And of course, even before she looks, Kerri can tell she's a nocker

Oh, that's very effective, she thinks about the aversion cantrip. Then a glance at the nocker, "Sure." And she looks around the diner to see if there are any familiar faces.

The nocker in question is slapping a tray down on what appears to be a man in a lab coat, a woman of mixed heritage with a feather woven in her hair and a denim jacket, and a rabbit pooka

There might be a joke in that somewhere

If there is, Kerri doesn't have the focus to tease it out. She waits for the waitress as patiently as she can.

At another table, there's an eshu woman. Who.. mmm was she at Pennons?

And there are private tables as well

Kerri nods to the eshu, but hopes to speak to the nocker waitress first.

"Okay have a seat and I'll feed you" the nocker says "You want menus or you just want to stare at the wall?" She asks them finally

"I just have a question...I'm trying to locate this rig and its driver. They were here this morning. Did you notice them?"

She eyes the picture of the rig "Yeah, Eivls and JFK.." She snorts "I remember them. Beautiful rig by the way"

"Which one is the troll? I can never remember," she asks.

"Huh?" She says "You mean Elvis and JFK? I don't know what kith they were" She says low "Whoever they were , they were hidden behind glamour. But they tipped well"

"Ahhh. Got it. Did they say where they were going?"

"One wanted to go to HOllywood Cali, another wanted to go the statue of liberty, but I can tell you they went south after looking at a brochure"

"Order somethingn, even if 'ts to go, and I'll tell you which one" She adds

Kerri sighs and looks like she's getting a headache. "Yes. Coffee, please. Order what you like, Gerd, I've got it covered."

"Tea please"

"On it" The woman says and gets them a hot coffee and sweet tea

When the waitress returns, she says, "They have borrowed this rig as a prank, and I'm trying to get it back before the owner can get truly furious...but I think we may have passed that window, already."

"I should text him," she says to Gerd.

"I don't think they're done yet" and she lays a brochure down which reads

That gets an audible groan from Kerri.

"That's in.. Elk CityOK" The nocker says as she tells the price

Kerri nods, and pays with a tip. And then she gets out her phone to text Frank.

"he's going to violate the right of life before this is done" Gerd worries

Then eyes her tea which is.. not what she meant but it's not worth fussing about as she drinks the diabeties juice version served in diners

Kerri notices Gerd's plight when she sips her coffee. "Want me to order you a real one?" she asks quietly. But she's clearly eager to get moving again.

"No, Duty calls. Later otnight after all this? I am SPOILING Myself though" She rises.. and they get ready "I flash us to thep arto f OK we do know..then we may have to either rent a car, bum a ride, or uber"

It's gonna be a long chase

"Oh, wait, Gerd. Let's see if we can enlist a bit of help." She gets up from their table and approaches the eshu lady. "Hello. I believe we've met, possibly at Pennons last year? I'm Kerri of Rivervale."

"Oh yes, the farting food" Amusement "I hope you cann laugh about it now?"

Kerri blinks. She had almost...almost...forgotten about that. "Ah. Yes. Quite." She clears her throat. "I don't suppose you spoke with the two who were here earlier, the ones that the waitress refers to as Elvis and JFK?"

"No, but they caught my interest" She confesses, "I'm Ara al- kenish by the way" She nods to Gerd who she has not met, then says "And I eavesdropped. What surprised me was their vehiclee. the Dawnttreader is .. known in some stories. Rigger will be on the hunt. I almost feel sorry for them"
