D'Lorean keeps pace with Dagmar, Snowthorn and Wildfire side by side

Dagmar has spent countless hours working with horses - and it shows, now. She keeps her seat well, finding a good balance for the stallion so he can run comfortably.

He is enjoying stretching his legs in the cool autumn night air.

ANd D'Lorean doesn't say anything. A quiet satyr. She doesn't ask. Not yet. This is the medicine Dagmar has chosen, a run with a horse. Oddly, the satyr with the silly name gets it

"Good boy. Run your heart out."

He has lots of heart, she thinks he could run all night if she let him.

And if a mare didn’t distract him.

D'Lorean raises a brow at that. Snowthorn hasn't had a work out like this in a while

Eventually, she pulls him down to a canter. Eventually.

"You okay?" D'Lorean asks once they get to a canter

Grunt.

The night is still lovely, moon still bright, and a small stream trickles alongside the path. Scenting the water, Wildfire flicks his ears and nickers.

She draws to a stop and dismounts, leading Wildfire to the water.

He drinks, tail frisking, looking not unlike Spark for a moment.

"Easy, cool down" She dismounts as well and lets Snowthorn do like wise "I have some celery want to give some to Wildfire when they're done drinking?"

"Celery?" A chuff. "Yeah, you know a horse person if they have random pocket veggies."

"Whoa, that's enough." She pulls him back before he drinks too much.

A grin "Well, plenty of moisture in celery, though theyr'e getting their own right nwo still they earned a treat right? Good run"

A huff, but he listens to Dagmar, though she gets an arm of horse slobber.

"He does like to run, for sure. Yes, hello." She does not mind some slobber.

He is not, she notes, as fast as Star. And she is definitely more sturdy. Wildfire would buck under the impact of a lance, she thinks. Not for the joust, this one.

And our hero, Snowdrift, must also take his drink and then get pulled back a bit. Wildfire doesn't stir him to anger. He was a cocky rookie himself once

"I know what you're thinking and it's very vain" The Satyr says to her horse, then looks to Dagmar "Yup. Born to it. Sometimes the only real freedom is on the back of a horse huh?"

"He's a racer, not a fighter." She finds an itchy spot to scratch. "Yeah. I knew it the first time I rode one. Got in the saddle and just remembered."

"First time I got on a horse.. I knew this was were I wanted to be. It's speed was my own, and we looked after each other. " She ponders "No people to really screw things up, or tell me I was a screw up"

She nods. "Yeah. I get it."

"You been there" A nod "I also know when a horse is used to get away from something, or someone you can't stand."

Grunt. Not a disagreement.

"Look, the guy was hitting on me some... if he's a danger to women..."

Overhead, an owl hoots, calling out, though it’s wings are silent.

The soft trickle of the stream, and wind rustling the autumn leaves.

She rolls her eyes. "He's a douchebag. If you don't mind that he'll try to sleep with anything that moves... "

"Satyr.. can't throw stones though Sex is not my top 3"

"Yeah, so if you don't mind sharing and don't expect anything beyond pretty words, you're good."

"So... pretty you're saying he's so shallow I wouldn't get my hooves wet" A frown "I'm sorry. Sounds like he definitely was a jerk to you. So you left so you wouldn't punch him in the head or at least chew him out?"

"Well, you may have noticed I'm the big mean villain that he oh so heroically ignored. Since I am no longer his cheerleader, I don't have a place in Protagonist Adam's Epic Story. He risks the horses, risks the riders, but I'm not to be acknowledged because I don't sugarcoat criticism or give him butt pats. After all, HE had a grand time! How exciting to lose control of a horse." Snort.

"Or perhaps later he will pose and suffer, for poor innocent Adam, how could he be responsible for anything?"

"Regardless, you can be certain he has never ever been wrong."

"Mmm" she nods listening

"So.. in other words.. kind of a manchild." A sigh "Shame. If I knew you and he had a history I would have tried to take you out riding earlier so we'd be in a different group"

"Yeah, well. I had managed to keep away from him most of the night."

"Is that why you..oh geez. You shouldn't lose all your fun just because he's here. "

"Why not? He sucks out all the air of whatever room he's in."

"He already ruined school. Why not this?"

"Wait.. I thought you two lived in different holds now? What school?"

"There's a hold part way - you meet any DeBukes yet? - that has a bunch of fae and kin. In person, which is nice."

"And oh, he doesn't like being there with us. Believe you me. Or seeing his parents. Or really, doing anything he doesn't want unless a sidhe asks him pretty please. THEN he jumps to."

"Well, sidhe have that crazy 'be happy to gaze at me' mortal thiing..and I say that as a girl who likes gazing" She admits "But that's a problem. DeBukes. Heard of them. Didn't know they had a school. Look. I can tell you we don't have Adam here regularly. And it would normally be just mondays. But if you want to visit on any non monday... or hell, Text me and I'll tell you if he's here, and then you want to come over when he's not. You'd have my invite to ride anytime. I need someone who can stay in thier saddle without falling over a cliff but doesn't outrank me" A grin

Grunt.
