Sparrow is exploring the town - the boggans may have kicked her out so she didn't get in the way of reworking the baronial suite. She certainly won't MISS the dark and foreboding décor.

by now, the boggans have learned to leave some wall area blank for her to do her painting on!

But the town itself is increasingly proven to be Sparrow's kind of place in many ways.

Not the elements that are anti maskers...

Sparrow has cracked a few jokes about kindergarten kids and crayons, but she appreciates it.

but there are some creative spots here. The isolation has forced the locals to rise up to be creative, or invited folks with that interest to fill the vacuum.

She is loving the warmth - easier to wear the halters that allow her wings room. There's some public art, but certainly room for more. It's not a school day, might there be kids out and about?

There there is... the playground seems to be a natural source for some of the younger ones and their mothers.

One father is pushing his daughter on a swing, while a middle aged woman eyes him as if expecting him to be a predator. She's kind of missing the commonalities the two have

Hmm. She finds a place to set herself up with her sketchbook. Innocuous. Well, she tries. Even masked, she tends to draw eyes and fascination.

the downside is sometimes she gets hit on by unsavory types... but, well ,mortal children also are drawn, and soon enough a young girl walks up and tries to peek at what she's doodling

The girl looks to be 6 years old. Snaggle toothed, and adorable.

"Hello." She shifts, letting the girl watch her work. It's the jungle gym, but it is being climbed by delightful winged lemurs.

"Hi" She says "What are you drawing?" She can see, but she clearly isn't used to lemurs, let alone winged ones "Those don't look like the winged monkeys of the wicked which so.. what are they?"

"They're lemurs, but they can fly." Her pencil scratches against the rough-toothed paper, and one of the lemurs has a snaggle tooth. It, too, is adorable. "Lemurs are... cousins, to monkeys. But I like Oz, it's a good place to dream about."

"Neat. They look cute" She admits "And I like Oz okay, my grandma says Narnia is better and I like that too. I also like Wonderland, though It's even weirder than Oz. " She considers herself an expert on fairy tale stories "A boy, a bit older than me told me that in the books the Slippers Dorothy got were SILVER.. I got a copy of the book, and he was right"

This shared as if a most amazing factoid that might shake the heavens if more folks knew about it

"I guess boys can be right, sometimes."

"I like Narnia - why, I bet Aslan would like it here, up on the bluff with the wind in his mane and the sun turning him all a-gold." She points at a rocky outcropping with her pencil. "Then he could ROAR and scare away the bullies."

She laughs "Yeah. Just dont' tell them. He was okay though. " Then at mention of Aslan , her eyes look up the outcropping "Ooo that's good lion spots. Yes. A shame, that boy could have used his help. " An admmission "Bullies stink"

The yet nameless girl's mother turns over from her tablet and bench and winces in an embarrassed way. She starts to rise to get her daughter

She nods. "They do. But they rely on you being afraid. If you're a friend of Aslan, though, you can just imagine him behind you... easy to be brave with a Lion there!"

"I hope's not being anytrouble?" the mother says approaching "Come on, Nan."

"Oh, she's not." Her emerald eyes crinkle with a smile. "She doesn't need to go, she's telling me about Narnia."

"mom, she draws winged lemurs!" Nan says to her mom

"I see.You know" Her mom says with a smile "Lemurs dont' have wings"

"not here no" Nan says as if that's obvious, despite the fact she didn't know what lemurs were a moment ago "But in narnia.. probably. And Oz"

"Absolutely in Oz."

The mother smiles "Okay, you be nice to the artist lady and thank her for sharing her art and letting you explain to her about Narnia"

Nan says "Welll... she already knows a lot about Narnia.. and Lion placement" Approvingly then says to Sparrow "That's my mom. I call her mom because she's my mom. You can call her Mrs. Wendall."

Mrs. Wendall chuckles then says "Or Janice. Nice to meet you"

"I'm Julia, nice to meet you, too. I'm new around her - visiting my Aunt Hope. She works at the coffee shop?" She offers a hand.

And there's a hand shake "Well, nice to meet you, Julia. Fort Davis is a mixed up place, but it has good people"

"And some bullies" Nan warns

Janice looks at her daughter "Did someone bully you honey?"

"Everywhere has a mix, we can just try to make things better as we go along."

"Nope, but they threw that odd boy's book down a grate the other day. I saw it" Nan informs her mom

"Well, you avoid that bully and come to me if he approaches you" Janice says, more protective of her daughter than worried about 'the odd boy' whoever he is

"What grate?" She looks, and spots. "That one?"

"And Julia is right.." Mrs. Wendall approves. "We try to make things better as we go along. Now, I know you love chatting about narnia but we can't linger too long."

"Uh huh" Nan points to show for sure "Right down. What a jerk!"

"Nan" Firmer tone "Thy chariot, aka 'the car' awaits"

"oh.. sorry" Nan looks at Julia "i'm sorry, I would love to talk more about how Narnia and Oz have a dance off competition, but I'm about to be dragged off by a Chariot"

Oh Nan is an imaginative one

"Go, fly! May your horses race the wind!"

"They shall!" Nan is now hyped, and runs to the car "hurry mother, we must'nt dawdle" Dawdle being a word she no doubt learned from Something Alice and wonderland like material.

"Yes your majesty," Janice shakes her head, then looks at Julia "Nice meeting you, Julia. Hope you like it here"

Sparrow grins, and it shows in her eyes. "You have a great day, Ms. Janice. I think I might!"

And off the mother and daughter go. both perfectly mortal, and thus some houses would consider them lesser, but the love between them, the dreams that thrive from the little girl with the mother's gentle guidance... House Liam knows that's the true source of what is best in the world.

A satisfied nod. She likes them. After they are gone, she sets her sketchbook aside to go over to the grate. Most sidhe would be dignified, probably. But Sparrow lays down on her belly to peer inside the grate.
