"I suppose..." The grump seems dubious.

"Punishment is educational. Behavior has consequences."

"See, Zara gets it," Earl says then he smiles "Oh, and Zara... with a name like indigo, can you guess what color palette they insist I paint in?"

"Mmm... blues, I would think."

"Save the heathers, in tacky pinks..."

"I mentioned that, though I was consdiering yellows. They're good with it. And yes.. blues and purples"

"Yellow hair. Barbies, nu?"

"You do know many of your kinfolk are blondes, right, Earl?" Emmit says

"Yes, I know, Uncle," Earl says then nods to Zara "of course" A grin "Zara... this is..it's the sort of art I love doing, it can help pay for our travels too if It takes off"

"Earl is blond."

"Just making sure he remembered that" Emmit looks amused now "I suppose you'll be wanting the farm to buy a copy?"

"But the pink and yellow will clash with the blue and purple."

"yes it will.. and kids will look forward to the blue and purple winning out " Earl says then looks to his Uncle "It would be nice. I'll sign it."

"Oh you know we'll buy at least three copies" The old man says

"Thanks" Earl adds, then looks back at Zara "And I owe a lot of this to you. Remember when you asked if I could do that art work of you in only purple lines?"

She nods. "I love that piece..."

"It's the one that got me the job" he says "The author saw it on my website"

"Wonderful! Oh, this is.. this is big time, isn't it? To be published?"

"Well, i've done cover art before but this? yes, it could be the big time, and even if it's not, it's .. it's an experience "

"In a book." She gives him a hug. He might as well have won an oscar.

And he BEAMS at that, returning the hug

"I think I just became a third wheel. You two go out, see a movie or play or wander around a museum... celebrate" Emmit suggets

"Would you like to?" earl offers to her

She nods, eagerly.

"Later, Uncle Emmit" And hand in hand, the young couple head off, where they go isn't quite as important as who they're going with- each other.
