they leave the lodge his mein dimming a bit. While the sluagh is silence and the cat shadow, he thumps along like the razorback he spoke of.

It takes a little bit before the sluagh whispers over, “You got a weapon? Or just the standard built-in package?”

"Teeth work... but I also got this.." He pulls out chimerical brass knuckles

“Nice. I just got Lovecraft and my good looks when I came over. Might look for a knife or blowgun or something I can poison someday. I ain’t made for head-on, but I got a cat spy and I’m sneaky.”

"you worried bout getting jumped or some shit?" He looks round blinking with redish eyes

“Nah, not with you around. You’d scare anything mortal away.” A pause. “I got a spook, though. It ain’t that bad when the crescent waxes- uh. When the moon’s all skinny like, y’know? But I didn’t want it to start blowing shit around and piss off the Boss Trolls that I brung it to their lodge. It comes at night.” A scowl, near invisible in the dusk.

"That why you had to haul ass?" Blink "Huh, less of a pussy than being scared of your step mom I guess, being scared of a ghost."

The cap seems to take a mometn to process this stuff, but Dirk does process..eventually

“Yeah. I ain’t scared of her, but I hate hearing her harp on about ‘oh noooo’, you poor thing, be safe, be careful...” a grumble in his tone. “Like the second I start middle school I’m going to join a gang and start dealing smack.”

“I don’t even know if there’s any of that shit around our school. Do you? Spycat said there were some shady looking guys hanging around, but that could be anything from a dog catcher to someone that tries to kick a cat in her mind.”

A long bout of silence, then "Lots of shit at that school. Your cat say anyhthing more about what they look like?"

He is silent for a few paces as well, then says, “If she did, then she’s no snitch- and neither am I. Not to the cops or any shit like that. Rabbit might want to be a cheerleader, but she’s no dumb bunny when she says we gotta stick together against ‘the man’. Or even the elders, they don’t remember what it was like being wild, they’re so busy choking to death on responsibility.”

"I ain't resposible for no one but me... but the school's got a history, you know? Stupid sluts who show themselves on thier boyfriend's smartphones...sending pics... then the state freaks out about under age pictures...but the guys are under age too. That happened. “You ain’t gotta be responsible for anyone else. But those seelies, they’re gonna stick their neck out for anyone who they think needs help. Easier to just let them do it than argue over it. It’s free backup- or if all it costs is showing up to play nice and eat snacks, I say it’s a fair bargain.”

He is quiet for a bit longer. “And an open invite to the fire, which is nothing to sneeze at when the Winter gets Cold.”

A stop "Fuck. Dude. Are you gay? Because you can suck what you want, but I am not down with the gay stuff."

The silent steps suddenly stumble as Symon trips in surprise. “What? No.. no! I just gotta hear them girls harp on about ‘boo hoo, what if so n so needs help?’ And me? I’m sure you’re fine. But free glamour is free glamour and if it means I get to stop hearing em bitch, then we both win.”

Dubious look as if no quite sold then "They gotta liam. Can't ravage even if you're starving. But ...those guys you saw? Not fae. So... don't worry about that"
