Siv and Dag conspire together about movies - Dag actually opening up, getting animated as she describes some of her favorites (which seem to be exclusively comic-based....)

"Y 'know," After numerous questions from Siv, she considers, "These Superheroes sound a lot like really clever takes on old myths and sagas of gods and heroes."

Frank, coming back from a private discussion with their Sidhe visitor, freshens his coffee and takes a seat.

"Oh, well Thor totally is..."

She looks over at Frank when he returns. "Frank, can Siv go see a movie? Friday or Saturday, maybe?"

Frank considers, nods. "I think so. Have to ask Brekke, of course, but..."

"She's never seen one."

"I thought it was just big TV" She tells her dad

"Almost, but not quite. And more communal. Siv, I need to talk to Dagmar, please."

She clams up, smile disappearing.

Siv gives Dagmar a 'see what I have to put up with here?' look, then nods, "Yes, father." And scoots.

"Thanks, Fishie." Fondly.

A blush "Daaaad." before she's gone.

Frank takes another sip of his coffee. "So. How does the Lodge strike you?"

She looks around, then back. "It seems like a nice place. Lots of room."

He nods. "We need a little more room. Our Kith is sometimes called "Giants." Obviously, we have to be careful around others."

"What happened out there in the woods. You fought well, but... did you hear anything, a voice?"

"I heard it's crowded, yeah. But I mean, I don't feel too big here, either. And... yes. Careful. Like... breaking things careful..."

A scowl and a nod. "It didn't make sense."

"It did. We just don't have the right context." He sighs. "Dagmar... I'm concerned for you. I don't think you will be safe out there." He gestures to the world outside with his mug.

"Well.... it's because I'm new, right? I have extra.... um.. glamour-stuff, and chimera want it? But won't that wear off?"

"It might." He agrees. "But I don't think that's all it is. I need to spend more time with you, look a little deeper."

"I told you everything."

"There are things about you that you can't tell me, because you don't know that. I'll share what I can with you, of course."

"Like... what things? Magic things? Siv said I might have, like, reincarnated. Been Dagmar but not Sam?"

Frank nods. "Better than even odds that you've had past lives, and yes, I might get a glimpse of those. I'm honestly more concerned about what that voice said. What do you remember?"

"Something about a Day Maiden, and embracing the grey.... hey, that fire, that was magic, too! Can I learn how to do that?"

Frank nods. "You'll have some magic that comes naturally, and some that takes more effort to learn, but I don't see why not."

"Cool." A brief grin.

He takes a drink. "So you're in the foster system. Hmphm." He thinks. "You like where you are now, people are good?"

"Dunno. They're okay. They're new. Usually, first couple weeks are the best. They've got another foster, Tanya. They like her better."

"I have my own room, and it's upstairs with everybody else. And I get the same dinner, too."

Frank nods. "I only just missed the system myself. Lucky, I guess. Or, Da'an; what we call a sense of Fate."

"Destiny. Right. Because we're magic now. I'm magic now?"

An eyeball spies on the room from the stairs. Someone is peeking

He nods. "You're magic now." He nods, indicating the Balefire. "What do you think of that?"

She closes her eyes - kenning, whether she knows it or not. "I like it. It's warm. And feels like... like being somewhere safe."

Frank watches her, and smiles faintly. "Correct on all counts."

"Ok, can we make a couple of agreements between us? I'm sure there are some things you want from me, from us, and I know there are things I want from you."

A long look, calculating. "Let's see what it is, first."

He chuckles. "Ok." He sets the mug down. "Mostly, what I'm asking for is to keep you safe, so if you don't understand why I'm asking, you ask me. Ok?"

"If it seems like you're going to be moved out of that foster home, you have to let me know right away. Day, night, whatever. It doesn't matter. Even -if- you have to leave that home, we can still stay in touch. If needed, I can find you somewhere else to finish your training with. But I have to know where you are regularly, ok?"

She nods, chewing on her lower lip. "Usually six months. Once I was with a placement for 8?"

"-This- fostering is a year and a day." Frank says firmly.

"That's why i was wondering if I could get it early. I could keep studying, right? But that's so long..."

"I know it seems that way, but before high school is over you'll look back and wonder where the time went, in your fostering." He promises.

Shuffling near the steps

"Sometimes, I don't have a lot of time to tell. The van shows up and I have to go."

"If I get you a phone, can you keep it? Call me? If a van shows up, call and I'll come. If I need to, I can get you out of that van."
