One can hear movement, within the wall. Not footsteps outside, but something within. Then a light tap-tap-tapping echos lightly on Jeremy's door.

(He reaches for the glasses on his nightstand, and slides them on, touching them lightly with fingers, then whispering) "Aye?"

(He is on the bed, listening to audiobooks with earbuds, one in, one out. He pulls it out, now)

"It is I sir. Thirteen. I wish to discuss some important matter with you. I have tea."

"Come in, Lady."

She comes moving along his walls, then down to the floor briefly, before she finds a seat. She offers out to him a thermos. "I hope it is to your liking sir."

"Didst thou bring aught, to partake with me, Lady?" (He accepts it with both hands, then reaches to push the nightstand over, for use as a makeshift table. He pushes the clock and lamp off it, to set on the floor as best he can)

She nods. "I did sir." She holds up her tradition Spiderman thermos, the one he often used for her. Then two cups and some slices of vegan banana bread, a few days old.

(He nods, but doesn't unscrew the thermos just yet) "A matter of import."

(Vague apprehension)

"About a journey your son is soon to go on." Said softly. "into the dreaming."

(A hesitation, then his whisper cools, fingers twitching tighter, briefly) "We spake of that, already."

"Weeks ago."

"Then you know he is going to go." Said softly. "He desires your help. Your help in his safe return." She pauses. "He is young sir. He is stubborn too."

"I told him, already. That does he attempt to leave. I shall drag him back." (His whisper has grown cold) "He knows this. He is unreadied."

"And he went behind my back, to continue with this."

"To your eyes he will never be ready sir." Pointed out softly. "But you and I, we could work together bring them all back safe." A moment, a pause. "You had to make your own mistakes in the past sir, he needs a chance to do the same. But we, you and I, have the power to make his escapades more safe than our own."

"And when, was he to tell me this?" (She can sense growing anger. It takes a while, usually, to rouse Jeremy's anger. Ice must have a talent for it)

"I had none to stop me, my mistakes were....survive'd....by sheer dumb luck, pardon my so saying."

"I am not when sir, but he is planning to tell you." Being truthful. "But I do know him sir. You could drag him back, but then he will resent you, and come to you for nothing. Or you could help me, help them, on their quest."

"Better he be alive and resentful....than dead and naught at all."

"But you do not understand sir. He will just stop talking to you at all. Go his own way, and attempt this from a different angle. As would most young people."

A breath " And I do not think he knows how to approach you sir. Perhaps he already thinks he knows what your answer would be. So he is building up the courage?"
